I did a follow up for the 4 most recent seasons

I personally usually like the endgame in hide and seek. Ben hiding under the slide for like 2+ hours has been enjoyable even on rewatches.

The thing about New Zealand is that, while the game itself wasn't great, it did do by FAR the best job of making the players go to interesting places. So that significantly helped make up for the issues with the gameplay itself.

I'd rate Hide and Seek much higher, it's my favourite format, even over tag, as it allows for the viewer to actively guess along with the seekers, which I find very fun.

Why New Zealand is one of my favourites is that you get to see so much of New Zealand. Odd attractions, fun places. It really made me want to go.

Okaihau Express should lift New Zealand to a 7 by itself, imho

My favorite JetLag seasons are the Hide And Seek seasons, by far. The "battle of wits" aspect of it is just so satisfying and fun.

For anyone who is on the fence about watching the show. No matter how “bad” the game design is, imo ALL seasons were extremely entertaining to watch.

I feel like even when the game design isnt perfect, them doing fun challenges and being funny will always make a Jetlag season worth watching.

ooh, the "submit challenge ideas to moderator who tweaks them and adds their own" thought is a very good idea imo

IMO, the key problem with tag is the rule that "if nobody makes it to their end location by the end of day 3, the winner is the person whose end location is closest to the current hider" is a thing. If I would try to fix it, I would say that I would replace the rule with "If nobody makes it to their end location by the end of day 3, the winner is the player who has made it closest to their end location during any of their prior runs."

Crazy "prediction" that at 9:44 you ask for a race using trains in (amongst others) Japan while showing Tom Scott

My main issue with arctic escape is the Train and Car tickets being almost worthless, exactly one train and one car ticket gets used and thats it...

... and then we realized that we have always watched Jet Lag not because of the game, but because of the players.

I agree that the flight rule needs to be changed, though solely to stop players from bothering customer service staff. I think a reasonable change could be allowing players to book one flight out of the airport they're headed to that would be unavailable (i.e. too close to the cutoff) at the scheduled arrival time of their current flight while forbidding players from changing their minds about that second flight if they make that choice.

I was also surprised by how poorly designed Snake ended up being. Listening to the game design Layover had me pumped, but I think the restrictive SK rail map made the game feel very small and not very snake-like. It rarely felt like players were making decisions — save for the starts of runs I can't think of a moment a player actually had a choice between two relatively good options, there was always just one clear path, which really flattened the prediction part of the game.

They should have done Snake in just Seoul. That rail network is just massive, and spiderweb like in its connectivity. There are no real hubs and it's so interconnected that there are countless of way to get to almost anywhere from almost anywhere. A route between for example Gimpo Airport and Magongnaru can involve everything from 1 station (they're next each other) to well over 200 stations and everything in between. And since it's just a city (albeit absolutely massive one) the pace of the game will be much higher.

I looooved Ben hiding under the slide for hours while the others were basically right next to him but couldnt find him. Its very enjoyable to watch for me with all the funny lines and cut betweens

this is like the least and most controversial video ever

New Zealands design was, well interesting, but the season is fun to watch, with a lot of close calls, and the Team chemistry between Ben and Adam and Sam and Toby carries aswell.

even though switzerland has it game design flaws, it is still a 10/10 for me, because its moments are pretty much iconic at this point. and schengen showdown is my second 10/10, because the game design is pretty much perfect and has so many make-it-or-break-it situations where the failing of one challenge could challenge the entire course of the game. it wasn't really clear who wins the season until the very last episode.
