This week’s giant pumpkin update covers how all three of my pumpkins are growing at 74–75 days after pollination as cooler temperatures settle into the patch. Growth is slowing, but each pumpkin is still adding weight, and the competition between my biggest pumpkin and the one gaining on her is getting tighter. I share full weight estimate updates, side and stem views, a look at the 1986 Turner stem split and the healing progress on several injuries. I explain that the 1931 Turner pumpkin may be widening at the base in ways our standard OTT (Over-The-Top) weight estimation measurements don’t capture. I also give updates on both of my daughters’ giant pumpkins, my giant watermelon now over 115 pounds, and my biggest giant tomato approaching 5 pounds as we move into the late season.
