Hey Peaches! FINALLY! Johnny Cage has arrived! What was your favorite fatality in the sequel, and do you think it lived up to the hype?

Every line out of Kano's mouth is absolute comedy gold. He steals every scene he's in.

I think the Bar tender was Ed Boon. Creator of MK and voice of Scorpion for many years(all the years?)

I honestly love that they sent Cole out with a bang. It sucks that he died, but he outfought Shao Khan in two minutes. Really goes to show he was the real deal!

18:47 that, gentleman, is Ed Boon, one of the founders of Mortal Kombat and the “GET OVER HERE!” Voice.

The first time I ever saw Karl Urban was in the mid/late 90s when he played various characters on Xena: Warrior Princess. He played Cupid and Julius Caesar. His career has an insane pathway and it's a freaking delight to see him every time.

So in the games, after Bi-Han's death, he is resurrected as Noob Saibot (which was a hidden character before they started including him in rosters and gave him a backstory). His name is the last name of the MK creators spelled backwards Ed Boon (Noob) and John Tobias (Saibot)

That Liu Kang and Kung Lao fight was one of favourite parts of the movie. But a lot of fights were good man.

I believe I read that was Karl Urbans son playing young Johnny in the old karate video on his phone. Maybe the actor for Cole will return as Kenshi or Takeda in the next one. I’m hoping to see Ermac & Rain. Love to get the Kollector & Aaron Black as well!

Like you guys, I relatively enjoyed Cole. I understand the resistance some people have to a movie original character and why they had to kill him. But I’m glad they didn’t do him completely dirty. He would have won that fight if the Emperor didn’t cheat.

Guys, armor WORKS in this movie, same with Master of the Universe. I am happy with that.

I have a fun theory that Cole Young will either be reincarnated to take on Scorpion’s mantle(that is if they can’t get Hiryouki back) or is one of the warrior souls that forms Ermac

53:38 He should have been credited as Noob Saibot actually, I was surprised when in the credits he was just listed as B-Han.

I feel bad that Cade young died in the sequel… ugh. But also… cage’s classic nut punch move… . That’s awesome 😂

Ngl, the casting for Kitana was impeccable. For both young and adult Kitana. The fact that she gets to be the one to end Shao is just... chef's kiss. Cole and his powers were actually the perfect counter for Shao, which makes sense that he got to fight him early to show off how using the amulet is just straight up cheating. So many great scenes and callbacks to the games. Even the "New Line Cinema" credit tag for that JC movie at the beginning (New Line Cinema were the ones who did the first live action MK movie). And I love that Karl Urban JC gets to do all the movie reference jokes.

I really hope we get a third one where they have to fight to save their revenant friends and have to take out a freed shinnok. It would be nice if we could get Kuai Liang as the new sub zero to show up in some way.

53:20 My only complaint with the movie. That should be the #1 rule of any Mortal Kombat movie; there has to be at least one fight set to the theme song.

THIS is how Hollywood needs to make movies! They made sure to have the creators AND major fans in the creative sphere during the whole process. The story feels authentic to MK and they were able to make it cool! It's EXACTLY what it was supposed to be. I hope the same for Street Fighter because they're also following the same type of concept where it's made with people that grew up with the games and people that know the lore. It's supposed to be FUN. MAKE THE THEATER FUN AGAIN!

Kitana's actress also played BPRD agent Bobbie Jo Song in Hellboy: The Crooked Man. (Which I liked as a horror movie / straight Mignola adaptation, but I guess I'm in the minority.)
