That's the romance of traditional archery!   It makes us overlook some of the disadvantages and appreciate the history and the connection to our equipment!

Very nice bow.
Priceless when bow comes with stories...❤

I love short bows for hunting. I listed some of my shorties in the comments of the last video on the Elkheart so I won't repeat it here. But, being a Toelke fan I came across a LH Kestral and  snatched it up. No longer made, this short recurve from Toelke was 52" amo and maxed out at 28½ to 29". I draw a little over 28" so it worked well for me. Fast, quiet and fun to shoot. After a shoulder injury the weight was too much to shoot comfortably and I ended up letting it go. Now I'm on the lookout for one in my new weight range. In a LH configuration they're like unicorns. Next to my 52" Elkheart Magnum, its the 2nd best short bow I've shot.
Toward the end of the video when you were shooting out to 30 yds and grouping reasonably well, you mentioned that with regular practice you could shoot the Pearson consistently at those distances. Exactly. I know short bows are theoretically less stable, but with regular sustained practice that minor shortcoming can be mitigated.
Thanks for another fine video!

wow, I had to pull down my Ben Pearson Hunter 58", wipe her down etc.  28" draw 50# after seeing this vid.
I can guarantee you that I was short drawing this bow from my garage sale purchase in 1977 when I first started.
Ya gotta have a stable of bows!  (my woman yelled at me the other day stating why in the hell does a person need 16 bows......)
I always seem to end up going to my Trad bows.  Varmint control, the Beauty and simplicity of it all.  Do not get me wrong, I rock a few compounds now and then along with some ILF's.  I also just started my Long Bow and wood arrow experiences.  Nothing to brag about that discipline just yet.  lol
Thank You for showing off your Dads bow.
edit  :I prefer 60" Trad bows most of the time in the 50# area with my 28" DL.  Have a 64" Bear Super Kodiak at 55# that shoots great.  The 55" Bear Archery Cheyennes are the shortest that I own.  What a power house of bows.....Have 3 of them....
I will stop my rambling.

Very nice another bow on my list I just got beat on one on EBay.
Enjoy.  God bless.

My first good bow was a 1965 Wing RedWing 52" AMO. 50 @ 28" but my draw is 26" so, short bows shoot much better for me. I love short bows and even for me they lose a bit of accuracy but, I think it is worth the trade off.

Interesting my first bow I bought was a Ben Pearson , Specter in 45 lbs. not sure if it was from the 1960s or 1970s .
I paid $40 bucks for it.

I have a Browning nomad striker,it is 54 pounds and 52 inch amo. I shoot off the shelf , I have a 28.5 inch draw length, my bow is a lot louder than yours sounds like my 340 spine arrows are smacking against the riser. I wonder how to minimize that. Thank you for your help.

I love short recurve bows also I own a Bear Super Mag and the Super Kodiak
