I could afford it if it was free

Projection really is a sweet way to go. I've had various rear mounted and UST units in my home theater for 20 years. Right now I'm using the Nexigo UST and it's just plain killer. I love not having to run cables to the back of my house. Even the 3D functions are fantastic and I find myself watching more 3D content as a result. Great review, Adam.

Pro 2 owner here. I have been very happy with it

Amazing video. Thanks 👍🏽

I have been using a projector for the last few years and it’s my go to watching movies and tv shows on in HD and hrd and 4K might upgrade soon

welcome to the real home theater world

I upgraded my home theater with this exact projector when it went on sale for prime day over the summer. It produces an incredibly beautiful picture and I can now play 3D movies which my last projector couldn’t. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

I have looked at a few projectors over the years, and while the size factor is always a pull,im a real stickler for the highest picture quality, and quality over quantity, and for that reason an 83 oled is my benchmark, even when compared to other tv tech like mini led or rgb led. The black levels provided by oled in my opinion are just unparalleled, and for me there is no living without that black floor for movies, I find that much more cinematic than just a bigger screen or projector. The gap is just too wide.

Nice Adam that looks great 👍

Thanks Adam.

Congrats on the new addition. I'm on the fence on whether I get a new 77"-85" TV or get a 100"-120" screen with a projector. The on the fence part is I would need to go with a fixed screen and move it back and forth in front of my TV that I have now because it would be nice to get a rising screen but they are so pricy in Canada, eh. I could also go with a screen that drops down from the ceiling as well.

Sweet! I can't afford the Max but I did grab the Pro2 after watching everyone brag about it. My BenQ TK850 just died, so I'm looking for the difference between laser and bulb. Great review, like always!!

I know there's not a lot of space but your room and listening experience would definitely benefit from some acoustic treatment, also wish you would do more about 3D on the channel, releases and reviews would be appreciated

Cool

If you've spent a good amount on your audio, I HIGHLY recommend acoustic panels.
Definitely one of the most noticeable upgrades I've done for my theatre room.  Mostly panels for absorption and some for diffusion.

5:41 The 70s porn music in the background is pretty amazing

As you pointed out, the Max has built in lens shift! There should be no need to tilt the projector itself and use keystone correction that lowers the resolution and use extra processing that will increase the latency! I would highly recommend placing the projector in the horizontal center of the screen and use the lens shift to center the image vertically without using keystone correction!

Try using the new lens accessory

So I built a home theater in a dedicated room, with a 7.4.4 audio setup that I love, and that has 135” projector screen for my Epson 5050UB.  The 5050UB is 4 years old now, however it still works like the day I put it up in its ceiling mount. My question is would the Valerion Max be an upgrade, or would I not notice that big of a difference?  I don’t have and have never been a fan of 3D, so that isn’t a plus for me, is I wouldn’t use it for that if I bought a Valerion Max. I would simply be asking for blu-ray and 4k purposes. Thank you for your time.
