Damian, a man abandoned by Raquel for being poor, is now a millionaire and about to marry Gaby, a kind-hearted doctor. On the day of the engagement, Raquel appears, now homeless, and upon discovering that her ex is now rich, she fakes a fainting spell to stop the wedding. Gaby, out of compassion, takes her in.
There, Raquel tries to win Damian back, but he rejects her. She then teams up with Bruno, the couple's best friend, who secretly loves Gaby, and together they concoct a lie with doctored photos that manages to separate them. When Bruno confesses the truth, Damian and Gaby get married, and Raquel returns to the streets to watch from afar the happiness she herself scorned.
