✨ Thank you for spending some creative time with me today. Do you start your journal pages with a plan, or do you prefer to see where the page takes you? I’d love to know 💛

Just a light mist works, you don't have to soak it. The damp softens the fibers of the paper. Stunning page Marta!

When you’re going to emboss paper, mist the paper lightly because it helps prevent the paper from tearing. It makes it more flexible. And instead of paper behind your page when you’re doing the edges with your brush, come off glass instead of paper and it makes it smoother ❤. Gorgeous!!!! Thank you for your time!!!

I heard Tim Holtz introduce the concept of lightly misting (not soaking) the paper several years ago. He said with 3D embossing folders it helps prevent the paper from cracking when it goes through the machine. I have used that technique ever since.

I've been using a spritz of water for a long time. It just makes the design pop. If you use a 3D folder it is just amazing!

I haven't seen your videos for a few years now. You were one of the first channels I started watching and was inspired by your techniques. I remember your little girl helping you. Such a cutie. This video popped up on my feed so I was happy to know you are still doing videos. You certainly have come a long way. I can't believe how many books you have. They are beautiful. Congratulations. I love the big shot! Tim Holtz has an electric die cut machine for those who have a hard time turning the handles...Vagabond Machine 2

A gorgeous card and to think it all started with just a plain piece of white paper. ❤

I started following you when I first started with watercolours. Love how you’re branching out! This is a great video!

I spray very lightly with water, too. The embossing is more defined as you showed us using your Big Shot machine. Using extra paper is smart, depending on the thickness of the embossing folder and/or the paper type, plus the machine type. It’s good to try on a small scrap of paper similar to what you want to use, to make sure the embossing texture comes out nice. I love embossing when I make cards.

Beautiful!
Lol, and the paper to capture the mess actually looks really cool too.

I love this!! I'm a huge fan of the steampunk and distressed aesthetic. I also use embossing folders occasionally and while the sizzix machines are expensive and not something that i can buy right now, ive used some ingenuity and i use a simple wooden rolling pin to create the same embossing effect! Ill be trying this wet paper trick becuz I can see that it would definitely improve my results too! 😊
