๐ American Reacts to Basketball Fans & Atmosphere: USA vs Europe! ๐๐ฅ
WOW. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into when I sat down to watch this video. As an American, I have always believed that the US has the best sports atmosphere in the world โ packed arenas, loud crowds, and incredible energy. But after watching this comparison of USA vs Europe basketball fan culture, I am seriously reconsidering everything I thought I knew!
In this video, I react to some of the most incredible basketball fan moments from both sides of the Atlantic. We start off with the NBA โ Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, and the Cleveland Cavaliers with an emotional crowd singing the national anthem led by Jessica Ruiz. It's loud, it's proud, and it's everything you'd expect from an American sporting event. We also take a look at US college basketball and the classic student section energy that every American sports fan knows and loves.
But thenโฆ everything changes.
When the European basketball footage starts, I was completely caught off guard. We are talking full arena blackouts with ZERO lights on, flares going off in the stands, massive flags being waved by thousands of fans, entire sections jumping and bouncing so hard that the FLOOR IS LITERALLY SHAKING. The energy, the passion, the chaos โ it is on a completely different level. This is the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, and I had no idea it was anything like this. One of the arenas appeared to be in Greece, and the atmosphere was absolute insanity. I genuinely said I would be scared to play in that environment โ and I meant it!
As an American reacting to European sports for the first time, this was a total eye opener. The passion that European basketball fans bring to every single game is something I have never witnessed before. From the ultras in the stands to the coordinated chants, the flags, the flares, and the deafening noise โ this is a different world of sports culture entirely.
I HAVE to go to one of these games in person. If you have been to a EuroLeague game, please drop a comment below and tell me โ which team has the best atmosphere? Which stadium should I visit first? I want to experience this craziness for myself!

My wife is Greek, the little woman goes crazy watching the game on TV.
True.
It was the biggest match of the season in Thessaloniki between Aris and their mortal enemies PAOK.
Lightning struck and fried the electrical system for a while.
Marko Ivkoviฤ's memory is celebrated as a "hero" of the fan base, with the slogan "Strawberry, you're still alive" (Jagoda, ziviลก) often used by fans.
Actual violence against players, coaches and officials is usually very frowned upon, and there are some songs fan groups have made to mock people who did.
Some of their coreographies are just amazing, and some fan groups are highly organized.
2d team: Red Star, Belgrade, Serbia
3d team: Panathinaikos, Athens, Greece
