I like to think of Hanna as an awesome 2 hour Chemical Brothers music video.

Tom Hollander sounds like he's a member of the German nihilists out of The Big Lebowski.

Looking back, it really is Saoirse Ronan that keeps the whole thing afloat. She's that rare actor who  virtually excels in any role regardless of the quality of the film around her. Because the film itself is totally ramshackle.

I saw this film a couple of weeks ago, and I thought that it was well directed, with solid performances from the main cast and supporting actors/characters and interesting visuals, especially towards the end.  It reminds me of Bourne-lite, although Ronan plays a more sympathetic character than Damon.  Yes, the plot has holes and makes illogical leaps at points but I was willing to suspend my disbelief because I enjoyed it.

Soloist was so amazing. Underrated as hell!

Um, the touristy "see the world" stuff was actually justified by the character's story of deprivation.

I love the Cate Blanchett accent!

Just saw this tonight, reminded me of your book where you say there's a big difference between enjoyable movie and great movies. There are some great films that I'll never watch again. this one will definitely be repeatedly viewed.

Awesome flick. Loved it.

18:07 I'm sold, it's on at my local World of Cine at 18:20, wish me luck with the traffic lights.

@qwertyuiopdan1 I feel that he is taking the piss out of the idea that the word 'hitman' actually offends. Anyone who gets offended by 'hitman' or 'fireman' or 'linesman' indeed should get a grip.

This film is a must-watch for Saoirse Ronan's performance alone. It is an absolutely barnstorming piece of acting without comparison until Dafne Keen came along in Logan!

Interesting because Saoirse Ronan actually does a Niel Jordan film later

hahaha kermodian... I will definitely use that word

@dominictemple I agree with you on the only seeing great films once. Perfect example, the first time I saw Moon, I was mesermized by it, I thought it was amazing. I hadn't seen it for ages and often went on about how great it was, watched it again a few months back and thought it was really, really dull. Such a shame.

Very excited about this film.
It's references to Leon by so many people makes me think that Luc Besson would make this film something sensational.

@EcologicalFighter Yes! I'm staring at the Léon: The Professional poster I have up on my wall right now... :P

I enjoyed this film.  Purchased the BluRay.

Saw this tonight really enjoyed it nice little film, I really do think 12A rating are ruining some movies though, this clearly needed to show a bit more violence, constantly having to rain it in and cut away, having said that is the subject matter of this film really the type of thing you'd take a12 yr old to see.

The return of the flappy hands!
