Larry Bird Warned Us About Modern NBA, But Nobody Listened

NBA Prime

Larry Bird warned that the modern NBA was losing its soul. In this NBA history deep dive, the Celtics legend speaks on grit, fundamentals, and a game old school fans barely recognize.

We cover three warnings Bird raised long before they became headlines: the whistle that turned defense soft, the three-point craze that hollowed out the five-man game, and load management that left ticket buyers cold. This NBA documentary sits with NBA legends and old school NBA values. If you grew up watching Bird walk onto those parquet floors, this NBA history cut is for you. Watch, then tell us if the game still has its fight.

I hated Larry while he was a player , he did a number on my favorite teams , but learning about his real character, these days I have come to appreciate him as a person, he has become one of my favorite all time players,, Larry Legend is what true basketball was, at its best

I've never heard Bird talk this much. And every word was truth.

Although I'm from the Big Apple, my brother and I bleed green - we're die-hard Celtics fans! We catch every game we can on TV or cable, and I spent some time today watching your top plays on YouTube. You're a true legend, Larry Bird. God bless!

Larry would never say it but Labron is definitely included with the “acting” comment.

A theater of ghosts. That’s pure poetry.

If only I had known I was living the golden days...and now they are so far. I thought it was normal, that it would always be like that

My Kingdom for return of hand check. They used to fight to stay on their feet, the normal reaction. It had drama felt like things were at stake.

I really enjoyed this. Larry Bird was an amazing player but he is a more amazing man. I love his work and I really appreciate the fact he understands how much it costs us to go and watch them play. I only got to see him play once and that was because a company I worked for offered me free tickets. I really Miss the way they used to play basketball. Thanks Larry for all your work ethic and your devotion to the game and your fans😊😊🎉
