Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness.

So she’s basically the Scientology version of a commander from the Handmaids Tale. That is utterly wild!

It just boggles me that these people believe something that was made up by a Science Fiction author.

One thing we DO know is that celebrity Scientologists have a completely different experience than every day folk Scientologists. They have a superiority complex and deny the labor and abuse practices of the lower tier.. its gross

Your beef with Ashton Kutcher sustains me 🎉

The irony of her being a Scientologist is overwhelming.

I didn't realise she was "clear" when she was still a child. Okay, that explains SO much about her extremely unsettling vibe.

I had a terrifying run-in with Scientology when I was 19. I almost joined and they ended up blocking my exit as I was trying to leave their building when the person I was with realized it was a cult, essentially, it was terrifying. A man and a woman just kept telling me my reactions proved I needed Scientology.

Someone needs to tell Elisabeth Moss to watch her own show, because what...

My ex used to work for a business owned by Scientologist. The whole "it taught me to communicate better" is because they train people on these modules about how to basically manipulate anyone. They required all the employees to take these scientology courses and they teach you very easy ways to make people drop their guard, like saying someone's name frequently. It's so concerning!

I told my boyfriend’s mom, while she was watching the handmaid’s tale, that ironically the actress who plays the main character, is in an actual cult in real life. She thought it was weird that she chose to play that role in her situation, “but you know, money is money” she said

I think the church is purposely having her pursue the roles of “Feminist” or “the woman who breaks free of the patriarchal regime” and it’s all part of her branding. If they are grooming her to have a higher ranking role in the church or be an ambassador they would want her image to be the opposite of Tom Cruise. My guess is they’re hoping her notable roles as the “likable character you root for” helps how people view her in real life.

I worked a Scientology Party and they made us all sign NDAs just to be there and work it.

@taylorgayhart9497 1 month ago

The fact that people think she isn’t that involved when she is one of the most dedicated members alive is crazy.

@Pewpewpewme 1 month ago

Sadly once I found out she was a scientologist, I didn't get to finish handmaid's tale. Can't support her. These people should be seen as a liability in Hollywood, and not be cast any longer.

No legitimate religion would ask you to downplay or hide what you believe

One thing I'll say about this woman is this: I will never watch The Handmaid's Tale because I cannot take the series seriously when she's the star of the show.

What a paradox.
