I never heard of Lucille Ricksen before, what a tragic  story and thank you for introducing her and keeping her memory alive

I love the silent film era, didnt know the complete history on Lucille. Thank you for the video.💕

I don’t know why this story is making me cry my eyes out
I just can’t imagine the trauma that little girl suffered at the hands of Hollywood and her mother! I hate to even call her a mother! She of Al people should have been her children’s protector! This is heartbreaking! At least that poor baby was finally able to be at peace and rest
Anyone who allows their children into the world of modeling and Hollywood needs their head examined! It’s not worth the price of “fame” to sell your children

This is a sweet and incredible tribute to this poor sweet soul who was gone too soon.

Thank you for this series. I find these stories fascinating but also very moving. Thank you for bringing these old stars back to life. This sad story did bring tears to my eyes.

this is so sad..how must the brother have felt..losing his mom and beloved sister..

the point i got from this video is the studios have been intrinsically normalizing attraction to children, absolutely abhorrent!! lucille is just one of many

Read quite a few stories and have  seen many documentaries about Hollywood celebrities whose lives ended in tragedy. However; I don't believe that I ever heard a more heartbreaking tale than this one. R.I.P. Lucille.⚘️

I think her brother became a lawyer.  It would be cool if a biopic was made about her.

I wish we had her films.

What a beautiful child!

It's a great video and shows how much research you put into it. I really enjoy all of them.

I love to see more documentaries on silent film stars. May they not be forgotten

Such a sad yet common Hollywood story. I look forward to your future videos on stars from a bygone era.
Excellent job.

Stumbled upon this gal after watching “Ghost Inside My Child”, and god, what a heartbreaking story. I shudder to think what else may have happened to her, considering that there is no short amount of stories of child exploitation/abuse in Hollywood…and Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland were also examples of this…

Unfortunately, stories like her continue to go on to this day, even with child labor laws.

I think that there should be a documentary or movie made about her, her story needs to be told.

Only 14 years old…good god.

Like others i was not aware of this young girl.  It is so sad.  Its a lot like Judy Garland and Shirley Temple  stories.  However they survived.  This was reallt done well to explain who this young lady was and how she  had no real childhood.  Thank ypu for sharing.

Hey I love your Youtube! Keep making videos about lost silent film stars pleaseee

Thank you for telling her story.

Thank you for disputing the rumours about Lucille having a botched abortion, l don’t believe it, Lucille was probably never alone with any of her co stars. One thing l did read about her that surely did impact her health was that when Lucille was sent on promotional tours the studios did not allow her to stay in really nice hotels in fact many of the places she did stay in were frankly substandard. Her gruelling work schedule was undoubtedly the main factor and her grief at losing her mother must have weakened her further. It’s frankly terrible that she was not paid by her studio while she was unable to work. There are many tragic Hollywood stories but the ones that featured child stars are the worst, they have no control over what happens to them and Hollywood was littered with many terrible tales of child actors. Thank you for a beautiful and dignified telling of Lucille Ricksen’s heartbreaking life and premature death.

What a story! Poor Lucille! She was so cute and could have been a great woman.
