This is gameplay/partial playthrough of learning scenario #1 from the two player, but solitaire/solo capable war board game In Fours to Heaven. Designed by Grzegorz Kuryłowicz and published by VUCA Simulations.
In Fours to Heaven is a strategic level board wargame about the first campaign of the Second World War. Battle for Poland, that took place September 1st to October 6th, 1939.
The game portrays dramatic clash between Poland and Hitler's Third Reich. It was the first introduction of what will be later called "Blitzkrieg" tactics. From military point of view, Poland was doomed from the start due to many reasons. Because of this, this story cannot be told without taking them into consideration. The biggest issue for Polish defenders was stubborn implementation of defensive "Plan West". It assumed Allied intervention or opening of the second front days after the potential attack. Many flaws of the plan and pointless actions, if the circumstances were different, caused quick downfall of Polish defenders.
The story in this game is told mostly from the Polish perspective, introducing Polish propaganda, morale and General Staffs standpoint. All of this combined creates many layers of the campaign beyond simple hex&counter wargame, which is crucial to the gameplay and makes Polish player really decide, how to play.
The game covers the whole campaign from it's start on the September 1st to the bitter end on October 6th and can be played in many ways, as a whole campaign or in series of smaller scenarios. Unit scale is division/regiment, 1 hex covers 10km of the real terrain.

Swapped units in the example. No idea how we missed this 🤣
16:58 - Here, an Retreat through a bridge would cause a step loss in DS as well as it is a defensive terrain (any that causes DRM). Think of this as deteriation of cohesion in unorganised Retreat.
27:00 - see step dots. Large units have 3 steps (3 dots). The second step loss adds a Dirsupted marker to unit and it still stays on the map.
35:30 - same here. Those step losses would cause inflicttion of Dirsupted markers instead of elimination.
Clarification - Cavalry 0 attack means, that this unit cannot attack by itself, but it can be part of multi-unit attack (with +0) to suck up some losses and most importantly, advance after combat.
+AL result in double roll is treated as no effect as we are not using DFR rules. I think it would be easier to grasp if it was written im special rules.
36:35 - you would suffer only one step loss due to BL result. As written, it's "+AL". Therefore, AL+BL. Because of the double roll, AL turns into NE -) NE+BL.
And again, this scenario would go on, as Cavalry and two motorized divisions would still be on the map.
Still, very good Play. I will start seeing now, what should have been tackled more clear and will add clarifications list.
