Great vid. It's hard to overstate how good these players were at a time where there was no true way to practice the "real" game outside of a game center, ESPECIALLY in VSAV where a game could be over in an instant (unless Bulleta is on screen lol)
They were not playing against plumbers man. God game.

Really love the Nuki translated segments really made the video for me. Excellent vsav coverage!

Crazy how high quality your videos have been recently. They were always great, but getting a high quality video like this or the FUC one was definitely a more rare treat. You've been killing it lately man, love this content

Once again you show your skill for oratory and pathos within non-fiction. You are the true, platonic ideal of a storyteller and the FGC is lucky to have you <3

The amount of times I've heard the music from Super Punch-Out in a video this week is higher than 1..and I'm not mad at it!

The vhs 90s intro alone earned my like. Imma login my other account to like this again.

Another "Absolute Cinema" production? Boutta see a saga play out here

That was easily one of the best intros. Good shit as always!

These videos are like mini video essays with nuggets of PLATINUM in there to watch as a new and older fighting game player alike. The styles on display and the hyped announcers just says it all man

God damn, seeing Sako do his thing with Bulleta always gets me so hype.

Loving the longform stuff man, best storyteller in the business.

Thanks, Obama.

The Sako build up, so so good. I love hearing stories from Japan’s FGC

I know it's for the benefit of people outside of the FGC but seeing the caption "voice of Nuki" feels akin to "voice of Peter Griffin" he;s got just such an identifiable voice I hardly feel like i or any person with functioning ears would be able to possibly mistake it for another person's lmao

Fr tho good stuffs :3 The whiplash of seeing people even playing Bishamon really makes me feel like i am taking a trip back in time i'm so hype to see VSAV come back to the mainstage the new blood needs to see the amazing sprite animation and looney tune nature to this game

We entered the era of long-form majin obama content and I'm all for it

I swear Obama, your narrative style across videos and even in commentary is such a pleasure to listen to and it builds so much excitement for whatever the subject.

That super punch out theme goes hard. Hit me in the nostalgia

11:27 I won’t lie, that’s kind of an awesome short story he told! Good for all of them involved.

Dang. Sako looking groovy.

Obama video going over less lesser known events of the japanese FGC history are always a TREAT.

Thank you for these, great framing and editing in the intro.

some day a long time from now these stories will be lost to time and I count myself very fortunate to hear them now. I hope someone is archiving articles and videos like these as a means of preserving the history.
