This lesson emphasizes that worship and Christian practice must be grounded in Scripture, illustrated by a humorous story about a couple debating a “goodnight kiss” using Bible verses. Continuing a series on hymn studies, the speaker introduces Fanny Crosby’s 1880 hymn “Tell Me the Story of Jesus,” noting her desire to hear and internalize the gospel story daily. He connects the hymn to 1 Corinthians 15’s foundation of the gospel—Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection—and walks through the verses: knowing and wanting the story, writing every word on the heart, Christ’s birth announcement, His fasting and temptations, His years of labor and sorrow, and especially the cross, grave, and resurrection. The lesson concludes by urging listeners to grow in knowledge, teach others, and let their lives reflect the story of Jesus.
