You’ve discovered what a lot of people would never suspect, and that is how forgiving knitting is on the irregularities of hand spun. The many variations in thickness just seem to melt away. Most of it is due to the thicker bits being less dense as twist tends to travel towards the thinner parts of the yarn. The stitches will compress the fibre. 😊
Thank you as well for simply picking a pattern. So many spinners seem to believe they need patterns specifically designed for hand spun. They don’t. Just pick what you fancy and as long as you’re able to somehow hit gauge you’re fine. There are designers however who are spinners as well. Angela Mowry is one of them, and she’ll often mention if she used hand spun in her designs.
