Ever wondered if medical nitrous or automotive nitrous (NOS) makes more power in a car? We put them to the ultimate test in a controlled dyno environment to find out!
Both types of nitrous are chemically similar – two parts nitrogen, one part oxygen (N2O). The key difference? Automotive NOS contains a sulfur additive as a denaturant to prevent misuse, while medical nitrous is 100% pure.
Medical nitrous is commonly used in dentistry for its mild sedative and pain-relieving properties. Automotive nitrous, on the other hand, boosts engine power by supplying more oxygen, allowing for greater fuel combustion.
In this video, we teamed up with  ⁨‪@CJRaceCars‬    and their nitrous-equipped S10 truck at  ⁨‪@CleetusM‬   dyno to compare the two. To ensure consistent results, we also partnered with  ⁨‪@DrTuneEmAll‬   performed a series of dyno pulls, including:

Baseline (no nitrous) pull
Two automotive nitrous pulls
Two medical nitrous pulls

The results might surprise you! We found that medical nitrous made very similar power to automotive nitrous. Watch the full video to see all the dyno runs and detailed analysis!
