Wildlife photography tips and insights from an underground photography hide at Shompole Wilderness in Kenya. It is quite simply the most incredible experience - being completely surrounded by wildlife. The angles and compositions that are possible from this photographic hide are simply not possible anywhere else when on safari. The waterhole is non stop action with giraffe, warthog, zebra, and finally - I capture what I think might be my best elephant photo ever!

I hope you enjoy the images. If you’d like to join me at Shompole, or one of my photographic safaris elsewhere in Africa, please do drop me a message.

If you're new here, welcome! I'm Matthew Williams-Ellis, a professional wildlife photographer, photographic safari host and mentor to people wanting to take their wildlife photography to the next level.
