Reseller " I hate paying a fee on shipping."
Ebay " Ok we're going to do flat rate shipping , no extra fees on it."
Reseller" Awesome, no fees on shipping."
Ebay " Yes, but the flat rate will be more than the discounted rate you were getting."
Reseller " How much more?
Ebay " At least 50% more than what the discounted rate was costing you."
Reseller " Yeah I won't pay fees on shipping anymore!"
Ebay " Yes , but your overall costs will end up being more than the fees were."

Speedx is horrible here. Very slow, drop them outside the business door (they don’t even try to open the door), and deliver on the weekend when the labels clearly show Mon-Fri business address delivery (they put that on there, I didn’t).

UPS I believe were the pioneers of high rates to rural addresses but it is rarely talked about.

I love the ebay standard envelope for selling boy scout patches. It makes shipping practical for something that is inexpensive and flat.

My first year of selling was 2023. The categories that I sold the most were first, jewelry and second books, old vintage books. a couple were antique books. Now, not many books are selling, even the old ones.

USPS has unprofitable constraints while their competition eats away at their bottom line with less regulations and restrictions

My son lives within a mile of an Amazon warehouse, same day delivery.

The big question is who will be responsible for damages and lost packages???????

I found a note with my USPS First Class pricing from about 10-12 years ago for the small items I ship. These prices were flat rate for anywhere in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

3oz $1.69
5oz $2.04
6oz $2.21
7oz $2.39
8oz $2.55
11oz $3.08

I just had a small 4oz package ship last week that was over $8.00 for USPS Ground Advantage.

I live where Waymos driverless taxis are common. And they still fail to stop for some school bus zones.

Thanks for the video!

I hate to say it, but the US goverment landed it on the USPS. THe USPS was never, ever set up as a money-generator. It was supposed to be a government service, not a revenue source. That said, I can smell massive changes coming. Rural deliveries may go to PO box delivery only, before something worse happens.

I recall the Amazon drone delivering the package into a swimming pool.

GREAT VIDEO!!! Its concerning to me that with it being fragmented, it will increase the chances of packages getting lost. Its cool to see the morphing of the delivery systems. I like the idea of the locker pickup points, especially at gas stations and such. If you already pass by there, it makes sense to pick it up there. When I worked at Walmart, there was a plan in place where they were gonna have employees deliver a few packages to customers on their way home from work. And, on mobile phone, you would be on the clock and would clock out after the delivery. The issues of car insurance, what happens in a wreck, etc. came up and the program disappeared. But, it was clever! Your dogs and kitty cat kill me!!! "You had one already." "In filming I lost 2 dogs and gained a cat." TOO FREAKING FUNNY!! Thanx for the laughs!!

I think the consolidation of the USPS hubs ties into your conversation. It’s happened around us here in N.E. Ohio.

We are somewhat rural, and we are seeing Amazon doing the final leg of delivery out here more and more.

On Robots, one company put their unit into a persons home, to be the maid, well, the thing malfunctioned and broke the stove during cooking, then rammed the mirror in hall and suddenly went crazy destroying the home…..poor guy had lots of home repairs! I was at a deli last week, they had one human waitress, then out rolls the round tall robot with body shelves carrying the plates of food for her….

I have one Priority mail package going out today. It's a pricey model vehicle, worth spending a few more dollars to ship Priority mail.
Most little matchbox cars, etc. Are able to get into the 4 oz. Category, but the new rural rates are really costing a lot.
Ebay is great for supplementing my recent retirement. 7 orders going out today!
