[What are everyone's TV memories?]
As a child, you tearfully begged your parents to let you watch the TV.
As adolescents, we fell in love with idols and waited excitedly for the show to air.
Television also taught us each step of our journey into adulthood.
As Japanese television turns 70 in 2023, what was it like? We thought the best way to express this was to collect "everyone's individual television memories." And we needed memories from both the creators and the viewers!
We're preserving the memories of hundreds of thousands, even millions, of television programs produced in Japan shortly after the war, during periods of rapid growth, stability, and stagnation.
This project aims to preserve for future generations the collective knowledge of the idea that "things made by people moved people's hearts."
