Still miffed with Qatar after my 9 hour flight from DPS to DOH last week in the B777 2-2-2 config… the contrast with their other business products is just way too big. However after watching this video, I’m already willing to forgive and look forward to our return flight in hopefully q-suite 😅 Thank you for the review 🙏🏼

Next July I'll be fly that route in the opposite direction - thanks for the preview. I got mine as part of redemption from Barcelona via Doha to Bangkok, the first leg in business, for 112.5k + $240, which I thought was pretty good value.

The benefit of BKK’s satellite concourse, airplane views! They are limited at the main hall, only certain gates toward the ends of each pier. Luckily my Scoot flight last year was parked there and I could get my first plane spotting session at the airport in 5 visits there. Also, I believe Qatar has retrofitted some A380s with the same economy seats as their A350s. I’ve been told it’s on 2 A380s.

Let’s just say tastes differ, but the Qatar Airways lounge in Bangkok is by far my favorite lounge. I even find it regrettable that Qatar Airways is planning to build a large new lounge in the satellite terminal of BKK airport, as the current one is so exceptional. I was also (pleasantly) surprised by your high score for the grain-fed beef short rib, as I’m usually disappointed with the quality of beef from BKK catering.

A downside of Qatar Airways’ first class is that their business class is already such an outstanding product that the added value of first class, as also concluded in the YouTube video, doesn’t justify the higher price.

My family and I fly with QA a lot, and we're really happy with them. Honestly, they've never disappointed us, whether we're flying Premium or Economy. It's always a pleasure, especially because of the flight crew.

On the ground, it's a different situation. The quality can vary a lot, especially at Hamad Airport, but it's still generally very good.

I also flew the same route recently and got the first class seat as opposed to business, but i got Qatar’d with an equipment swap from the A380 to 777 (Cathay leased), was still impressive though. I did get to sample the BKK al la carte lounge restaurant which was fantastic! 😊

I also flew using the satellite terminal, this year, and I wasn’t thrilled about it. I couldn’t access the lounge there so I had to cut my stay at the lounge short and rush to the satellite terminal.

I have this booked as well (initially from MAN, but I switched to DUB with a positioning flight to reduce the taxes). My observation when I tried to book this, looking at different European cities, it that it seemed to price the overall trip based on the price of the longest segments. However someone I know booked MAN-DOH-BKK after me and it cost 90,000 in F, compared to 75,000 in J (this was done more recently) so I’m now wondering if QR have changed how they charge for these routes.

Fabulous sound track! It might add a lot to the production costs/time of a video, but a good sound track adds a mountain to the quality of the final product.
