What I don’t get is people who do 40 on a national speed limit road but then they also do 40 in a 30mph zone 😂

If "Strictly" was about to start, I would be the one driving slow.

slow drivers who suddenly wake up and accelerate when being overtaken is really dangerous

Trying to balance a pint of beer in one hand, a mobile phone in the other and holding the steering wheel with my knees do you really expect me to keep up with the traffic in front? Patience is a virtue....

And it was at 1:26 the driver put their phone down and started concentrating on their driving

A few years ago my wife had major abdominal surgery. Getting her home afterwards meant driving very gingerly.  Even the turbulence of cars passing was enough to cause her discomfort. Fortunately for other drivers most of the 5mile route was within 30mph limits and the remainder was a wide, two lane low use country road. Other than something like a "delicate passenger" sign there's no way of indicating to others just why I'm going so slowly.

Until recently I had a van and the hassle I'd get for driving at 50mph on an NSL A-road is unbelievable, yet I was driving at my legal limit. The irony would be that come a bendy section of the road I'd then be "stuck" behind them doing 30mph because of the "dangerous road".

I got a minor on my driving exam for doing 20 in a 30 right at the start of my test, it was a residential street with cars parked on both sides so I wasn't fully confident to go 30 at that time.
I don't think it's fair that people can do half the speed limit in a straight line on american-sized roads, in the sun, on flat ground, no fog, they should be pulled over and warned if their actions cause traffic backing and they don't pull over themselves.

I flashed my lights at a slow driver the other day - a taxi on a slip road in front of me, joining the motorway at 33 mph. Why does there seem quite a few drivers that have no clue how to join a motorway? A couple of months ago I had one in front of me joining at 30 mph. When you are joining with cars that are doing 60 mph plus, this is dangerous.

I always take into account whether they're a new driver or nervous. I'll never forget how that felt.

Perfect follow up... "Next lesson is slip roads."  That is the one place I absolutely think driving too slow is dangerous!  As someone following in that situation I can get put into a very difficult and dangerous situation!

As a driver of 60 plus years, still with good eyesight and reflexes,  I am amazed at the number of people driving who should not have passed a test. I like the odd "zoom" when safe and agree with all you say in your vids. Only one accident in all that time, last century, and one ticket recently , the first since speed guns came into use. I love a good criticise when I am driving.

For me what's worse is when people overtake too slow especially on a multi-lane road and they are sitting in your blind spot for no apparent reason.

A rule given to my mother by her father was "If you have an open road in front of you and three vehicles behind you, pull over and let them go."
This rule has been in play since the nineteen twenties, and is still a good one, it can help you avoid a Driving Without Due Care charge.

I'm old enough to remember when motorways had a minimum speed limit of 40mph. That didn't last long!

I had a friend who had a neurological condition where every movement gave him agony. He asked me to drive him to his hospital appointments, however I had to drive slowly as each movement was agonising for him. I let other cars pass when I could, but it was difficult.

Some countries have a minimum speed on the roads too. I remember one instance growing up, where someone caused a 30+ mile queue because they were driving at the equivalent of  15mph on a 60, on the last day of school holidays, on the main highway.

For me the worst thing about drivers going too slow is it encourages people to do silly things to try and overtake.

thanks for your input! while learning I often had impatient drivers overtake me very unsafely, and now I am getting used to both driving independently and in a car that is new to me - so I am often a bit nervous that I am holding people up. It was however my pet peeve when I went a bit below the speed limit, someone dangerously overtook, and my instructor would say "see what you made them do?" I may have held them up, but I hardly made them overtake in a turn, or on a solid white line; they chose to do that! I have definitely become a lot better with speed management, but I now own an old tiny car that is hardly speedy, and I am still getting the hang of how it drives. It certainly feels mighty embarrassing when I drive a new car and go a bit slow, but the only way to get used to it is to keep driving it.

My regular commute to work is a roughly 10 mile trip each way that encompasses 20, 30, 40 and 60 mph speed limit sections. It is common, during the day at least, for me not to get above 35mph for the entire trip. Overtaking opportunities are practically non-existent. I will admit, even as someone who tries to drive defensively and within speed limits, that I find this incredibly frustrating.
I'm completely OK if I'm stuck behind a tractor or a learner or an HGV but most of the time it is just someone, in a nicer car than mine, pootling along at 35 with no apparent awareness of the speed limit or the queue behind them. I live in a tourist area so I suspect they are often non-local or foreign drivers unfamiliar with the roads and their hire car. Often they tend to be older drivers.
I admit I do get angry at times but it is my responsibility to manage my emotions. I give them space (even when the person behind doesn't give me the same courtesy) and try and go with the flow. It's taken me a while but I think I'm finally beginning to accept that this is just what my commute looks like. It's been this way for the five years I've lived here and I've no reason to expect it will be any different tomorrow.

Driving at 30 or 40 on a 60 road in good conditions is driving without due care and attention.  I live in the sticks and mostly drive on national speed limit country roads - by far the most dangerous situations I've witnessed have been to other drivers going way too slow.  If they can't manage reasonable progress they shouldn't be behind the wheel (learners excepted).
