Tasha literally has a line that goes something like "Why would anyone want to do anything other than fly?" and the context being that she doesn't understand why people would want to kill other pilots when everyone could just fly together. the message has never been clearer: War is bad Planes are badass

“Coster, what are you doing? TURN THAT SHIT TF UP!!!”

The best way to describe Ace Combat I've ever heard is "imagine a mecha anime but the mechs are all real world fighter jets."

@theexecutioner5244 18 hours ago

Woolie if it helps, Ace Combat is one side of the coin. The other is Armored Core.

For Woolie, Ace Combat is if Gundam, Metal Gear and Top Gun made a baby.

They told me the music was extraordinary.
I was still blown away

Ace Combat is anti subverting expectations. There is no "Do you feel like a hero?" There is "You are a hero."

The whole story delivery via radio is always so cool, like your wingman is having a panic attack crisis while you're trying to divebomb these artillery installations to protect your allied landing boats.

Ace Combat 8 was a pure hopecore and i couldnt be more happy wit hit. Sincerity of final mission made fucking cry

@ChronoTriggerHappy 21 hours ago

and then you get Costa blasting "oldschool" rock and roll in retaliation and then YOU get your own boss theme song and its mwah chefs kiss.

@ZaCr1mson 20 hours ago

It always confused me when I saw people say they want less dialogue and story in ace combat. Since that was one of the best parts of ace combat.

The feeling you get from playing Ace Combat is the same as when you were a kid, running around the house, jet in hand. You were the hero of the story and fought down insurmountable number of enemies. Oh and It’s that set to an incredible soundtrack.

Ace combat has always had a certain visceral feeling

Superbomber that can outmaneuver you being Fantasy?
Pat, that thing, is just the XB-27 Valkyrie

@Terrachova 19 hours ago

Perfect hyping up of Ace Combat, Pat. 10/10 no notes.

AC8 is my GOTY just cause it is so earnest in its one simple message: HOPE and make that hope real

God the soundtrack is so beautiful that it sends me back to the first time I finished Nier: Automata
