If a left hander is teaching a right hander it is easier if they sit across from each other that way your right and their left are directly across from each other therefor making it easier to copy their movements. This is how I learned to crochet from a left hander.😊

As a left hander, I knit and crochet right handed because that's just how I learnt. Whenever I try to swap to left handed it's like it has the dexterity of a baby it's so bad. At the end of the day we're much more dexterous in our off hand than we think. And practice is far more important than hand dominance

My husband decided he wanted to learn nalbinding. He picked it up so quickly (he is not crafty at all) but he uses his finger for tension because his thumbs are too large. His first project was a hat, and then he decided to make himself a jumper which he is half way through finishing. He’s using my scrap yarns and a large metal yarn needle.

Wow Shannon. Thanks for showing us a new craft. As a women in her 70 I’ve never heard of this but very interested to see what you make. My mom was a wonderful knitter and tried to teach myself and twin sister but I just couldn’t get the hang of it , where my twin did and does beautiful work. I can crochet but by my favourite is sewing. I been sewing since I was 13 an use to make most of my clothes. As the year went by I now quilt and love it. I to am self teach for quilting. I’ve been working on my hexie quilt now for a little over a year and can’t wait till I have enough blocks made and decided what design I will make. Thank you for all you great videos. I always look forward to seeing what you’ve been up too. 💕

I'm a cross handed leftie so I understand the struggle! My handedness with crafts is all over the map! 😂

For the mystery yarn, you can try a flame test to get a better idea of the content! You just need to safely apply a flame to a small piece of the yarn and observe how it burns and the ash/residue left behind! There's a bunch of charts that can walk you through identifying common fiber types!

Wise move to line the bag. I was wondering about the needles getting lost but you solved it. Well done. I do like the blue with the neutral. Never having noticed that you wear a lot of purple, today was a revelation - yes, you do! :D Suits you well. So do the blues you sew with often.

As someone who can’t live a day, without a cup of hot tea, I would make a tea cozy. Naalbinding is a little less stretchy and stiffer than knitting it could make a nice structured dome to go on top of a teapot.

This looks like the perfect needle craft for someone like me with arthritic thumbs and fingers. There is no weighty needle with your project hanging from it as with knitting, and you don’t always have to be holding your needle as in crochet, since the yarn is looped through it. It seems like it would allow for more flexing and stretching of the hands as you work.

This was so delightful! Not only was the nalbinding fascinating, but I loved the Norwegian scenery and thrift store adventures.

I’m left-handed. My grandmother, who taught me the basics of knitting, was naturally left-handed, but forced to switch to her right hand (this was the 1920’s). So I knit right-handed, but crochet left-handed, and am just generally chaotic in which hand I use to craft.

In other words, welcome into the fold of people who do different crafts with different hands, lol
