Play as Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Kikyo in the Japanese fantasy RPG Onmyoji! http://neva.ly/Onmyoji_GaijinG
At the turn of the 2000's Inuyasha stepped up and helped pave the way for anime in the U.S. and captured the hearts of people everywhere. Including myself! But looking back on the show as an adult and an analyst, I can't BELIEVE the cultural inspirations I missed! INCLUDING the two best bois themselves, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru and their connection to folklore yokai, inugami!

Moral of the story is this: Treat your pets well.

I'm re-watching Inuyasha and it's way better then I remembered

@ShinjiSings 7 years ago

Damn. You could make a whole show only highlighting one or two enemies of Inu Yasha per episode. And i'd watch every single episode :-)

Sesshomaru also should be noted, that he too finds a human to protect and I remember that while he wasn't thrilled with the comparison someone even mentions to him that he's become more like his brother whom was always more like their father.

If I had to give an abridged summary of the episode of Sesshomaru seeing his mother, it would be this:
Mother: Oh, you brought me a snack, how thoughtful.
Sesshomaru: Rin's not a snack, she's my pet human.
Mother: What about the other one?
Sesshomaru: He's a stray. And you can't eat him either!
Mother sort of kind of accidentally kills Rin.
Sesshomaru: Dammit Mom! This is why I stopped visiting you.
Problem gets fixed. Sesshomaru, Rin, Gohaku, and Jaken get ready to leave.
Sesshomaru: Good bye, Mother…By the way, I'm not sending you a Christmas card this year!

It is so weird to hear their names pronounced correctly

7:10 there seems to be a jump in the script there. You never explained HOW inugami were made, or what abuse they sent through before the transformation was complete. You jumped straight to the owners turning face and treating them like family again.

My first official anime 😭 I cried when it finished

@The_Rage_Kage 7 years ago

Just gonna say this.
Taisho = Sparda
Sesshomaru = Virgil
Inuyasha = Dante

Fight Me.

And I know Inuyasha came first.

SPEAKING OF INUYASHA,, its getting a sequel series abt sesshomaru's and inukag's daughters 😭💘

I'm surprised you didn't cover this sooner.

For me, I watched Inuyasha because of youkai because I loved an earlier series, Yu Yu Hakusho. It's still my favorite anime and I got all up in fox lore from it. So then when Inuyasha came out, I was like "White haired canine youkai? Sign me up!"

This just popped up on my feed and once I saw inuyasha I clicked so fast!!!

3:14 The subtitles show "Sesshomaru" as "sexual Matos" lol
weird enough, it doesn't have problem with "Inuyasha" :/

I'd love to see more episodes on InuYasha!!

Also, if you need even more suggestions/requests... Shaman King seems to be a pretty crazy beast to tackle cultural-y.

I always loved sesshomaru's music. I always wanted to be cool enough to have that kind of music play when I walked into a room.

Can't wait for the soft launch of Yokai Watchers. You're pretty much the reason I had got into the lore of yokai and have been digging deeper into some of the lore of movies, shows and more specifically video games.
At some point, would love to see you cover a PS2 game called Kuon. It's Horror, but right up your alley as a story based around Abe no Seimei and his pupils/rival. Even if you just play it for your Twitch channel :)

InuYasha is the only series i have returned to watching. Been re-watching it after 15 years and discovering the show in a whole new light! The content is actually so matured. It's one of the classiest animes ever with top quality english voiceovers.
