Life After the Army: From Soldier to Close Protection | Ryan McManus, International Security Operations Manager

Ryan McManus joined the British Army as a teenager and gave it 16 years. When his service came to an end, he was heartbroken. The Army was all he had known since he was fifteen, and suddenly it was gone.

So he started again. He completed his close protection training in 2015, picked up a team leader role on a contract in Iraq, and moved into logistics and operations, keeping weapons, vehicles, radios and new arrivals moving across multiple projects. Today he works as an International Security Operations Manager.
