These names have created a global phenomenon and here talk for the first time of how it was achieved, where it's at and what the future holds.

Love this. Safely say I've loved it from the start, albeit too young to go out and listen to it in the clubs but it is in my blood, always will be.

What stood out to me is how all of these producers were referencing various different genres and musical influences inspired them to create something fresh and new in this scene. It really showed in how rich and deep the sound was. I think that's what's missing now, I'm guessing a lot of the new dnb producers are influenced by the older dnb sounds without knowing the real roots of where the sound came from. That's what makes new dnb sound sterile and superficial sometimes. Just an opinion and maybe it's the evolution of the scene but i think we've lost a lot of the soul and ethos of dnb/jungle in recent years as it's grown in popularity. Correct me if i'm wrong :-)

Great times at Hoxton Square had. Up there with Speed and AWOL.

As if they only played the intro bars to Wormhole without letting it roll out a bit. And an in-studio pre-release version of it, too!

How is there a dude in this calling himself "Marley Marl" when the one of the most legendary producers in hip hop history has had that name since the early 80's? I guess they never told people in Britain that biting is some seriously wack ish.

Sod off, Giles!

They gave Giles Peterson way too much airtime, in my humble opinion. He was well known for (or at least gave the impression of) jumping on certain scenes and music trends once they'd become big and respected. He never seemed to be there at the beginning of the genres. He never seemed to care about jungle and D&B until Speed and Blue Note, as far as I know.

However, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll gladly put my hands up and admit I got it wrong. I don't know; he just seemed to me to be more about hobnobbing with cult and popular artists, producers and DJs than the actual music.

And yes, I am well aware that he went on to release a few DnB releases on his own Talkin' Loud imprint from the likes of Roni Size, DJ Krust, 4 Hero, Wax Doctor, etc.
