This video is the culmination of tons of hours of research and editing. I hope my efforts were not in vain and you enjoy the video. I had to pick and choose specific things to put in this video, so there are plenty of things that, just for the sake of time, are not included. I have a feeling I probably missed something along the way, specifically with the Orichalc Tower... I just get a bad vibe from that one. Regardless, please tell me what I got right, wrong, or anything in between. I'll try to update this comment if there's anything huge that I genuinely think I got wrong.

1:50 and 1:12:46 hahahahaha okay I can explain this issue. My Sotha Sil thumbnail was labled "maxresdefault," which is the normal name of a YouTube thumbnail when downloaded. I had both the Sotha Sil video thumbnail and that Dark Souls thumbnail downloaded for something else entirely (Original video: https://youtu.be/6aIqWOGLM3A?si=heAq9W_z2is86Xal), and the images got swapped in my editing software. So, it's just a funny thing we'll have to deal with, but the original intention was to have that be my Sotha Sil thumbnail lol.

14:02 I meant to say Adamantine Tower, not White-Gold here

55:55 Bad audio take in here. Didn't find it while editing.

Also, this is the 3rd upload of this video, technically. I apologize to all of my channel members with notifications on who had to endure me reuploading this over and over. Special thanks, again, to Alexis, for helping me proof-read the final product to make it the best video that I could. Also, thanks to FaustsLament for the $5 Super Thanks on the last upload. It is extremely appreciated.

I have a few videos planned to hopefully come out soon: a Bethesda Rant, a video about Ithelia, and perhaps even a video pertaining to an Elder Scrolls saint. I will likely be dipping into Avowed's lore as well, seeing as I really really love the Pillars universe, and I don't really here enough people talking about it. Aside from those smaller projects, I will be putting a poll up for Channel Members at Master Thief Tier or higher to participate in soon, which will choose the next large-scale lore topic that we'll be studying.

See you in the next one and in the comments. And thank you.

Achieving CHIM means you can pronounce it however you like

Brother, you're selling your story-telling ability short. Calling this a "tower lore explanation" is a huge understatement. You cover basically all of the single most important over-arching concepts of the ENTIRE series in the first 28 minutes. It's actually comprehensible even to people who've never played the games.

Ah, another foray into elder scrolls lore in which the two avenues appear again as either “thank you kirkbride for your interesting contributions to the lore” and “goddamit kirkbride just give me a clear answer”

I like the idea that as towers are being "destroyed", new towers come into existence. Clockwork replaces walking-brass for example. The universe has inertia, as you push in one side, it pulls itself back.

Every single one of Kirkbride’s personal answers to lore questions can be answered by giving a look of confusion and saying “Michael that can’t be right”

The Thalmor did the Crystal Tower. Daedric fire cant melt moonstone beams.

I'm Commander Shezzarine and this is my favorite video on Youtube.

she lore on my tower till i CHIM

"They did not build a tower, they grew one"

House Telvanni: "Sounds like a tower to me."

Mantling is such a neat concept.
Just like the Hero of Kvatch mantles Sheogorath, the Nerevarine mantles Nerevar by re-enacting Nerevar's greatest deeds (uniting the houses by any means, gaining Azura's blessing and defeating a threat to morrowind), Azura claims its destiny but really you just walk like Nerevar until everyone calls you Nerevar, out of desire or necessity. It doesn't matter who you were, in that moment when it matters you become Nerevarine.
And once "Nerevar Reborn" has fulfilled their role they're free to do as they please (continue to claim Nerevar's legacy by destroying the disintegrating tribunal or buggering off to solthsheim to throw hands with hircine lol).

My favorite shit is when lore is like “What’s a tower” and the shit is so complex the only correct answer is “good question, if you know, please let me know so I can tell you.”

I’m not unconvinced the “Wheel” is the disc Morrowind was printed on.

Seems to me that the literal manifestation of the stone the Snow-Throat rests upon, "The Cave" is the one massive cave system sprawling beneath Skyrim, particularly its nexus, Blackreach.

Blackreach, which is illuminated by a massive lantern hanging behind the walls of a Dwemer fortress.

Just like Plato's allegory.

It even has prisoners who have been trapped there, the Falmer, never again to see the light of day because they have been blinded on a metaphysical level.

Throats are hollow, they extend downwards into a cavern (stomach). There is also a connection here to Adam's apples and the forbidden knowledge of the Elder Scrolls we find swallowed deep within Blackreach. We can also make wordplay about a "pit in my stomach". Pit being both a hole, and the "stone" of a fruit.

using blender to make a 3D model of the wheel and explain the "I" is incredible

To help understand how the Towers work, try this:
Take 2 sheets of paper and lay one on top of the other. Move the top sheet around… that’s Mundas with no Towers.
Now stab a pencil through the sheets, holding the sheets together. That’s Adamantia at Convention. Mundas now has a focal point to hold reality in place, but it’s only a single point, the sheets can still be turned around this first tower.

Add a second pencil somewhere else to pierce the sheets. Now the sheets can no longer be moved. This is the second tower adding another focal point to solidify reality in place. It doesn’t matter which tower this is, it just has to be a second tower to hold Mundas firm. Subsequent towers strengthen this hold, but we won’t see a significant change to the structure as it’s the first 2 points that are doing all the work. So we won’t see any negative impacts by removing Towers until we return to a single Tower.

Reality becomes unstable again at that point. Remove the final tower and reality returns to its original state, with space and time being undefined (the sheets can move freely again) … this is what the Thalmor want to achieve, allowing the Altmer to return to what they believe their true state to be.

"You can't just say perchance!"

This is peak Elder Scrolls lore for me. Absolute esoteric knowledge hinted at in the games. A world that seems to be just basic high fantasy on the surface but holds a lot of secrets. Banger video.

Everytime i hear the name "Lawful Crystal", Jojo themes play in my head. Tower is a good name for Stahd, towers do primarily Stand.

As an undead Archivist of Mundus (since 2E 556) your research is greatly GREATLY appreciated and respected. Thank you
