If you cannot sweat or glue a wig, that wig is crap. My Mom lost her hair after her kidney transplant and she has a very good wig. We live in Florida, she sweats in it and has glued it, the wig is 2 years old and perfectly fine!
For 10K the hair used in that wig better be hair from a virgin, who was born of virgin birth, who's virgin father is a celestial being and virgin mother a mermaid and have gold from the mountains of Lemuria woven into it. And it better have magic powers, like grants world peace, or allows the wearer to eat chocolate and never gain weight.
18:37 The wig maker claimed that her wigs were were all hand-tied (note that it’s caveated that it’s just the top that is hand-tied, btw), yet she shows the top of a wig being machine-stitched immediately after saying that.
To have ANYTHING behind a paywall when your customers are spending 10K is INSANE! You know that business is a scam if they're doing that; the problem is that the buyers likely don't know about the paywall until they buy the wig and get that 'comprehensive' booklet.
As a wig wearer, she’s right and wig maker is taking people for a ride. All the issues she talks about is cheaply made for the price of the wig. I have wigs from Luvme hair that paid only $300-400 and they are 4 years old and look great. I am so sorry she got ripped off like this. I hope she knows about other companies like Luvme hair that are way more affordable and last just as long.
At first I was gonna critique the person for working out in a wig but then had to remember it was $10K. For me personally, if I’m spending that much money on something it’s not for appearances, it’s for necessity. I expect that wig to survive 36 hours in active combat and to still look amazing
That is a house deposit. That is a new car. That could pay for post-grad qualifications. She’s made the decision to put that money towards something that will make her happier & boost self confidence, & I’m here for it! But that wig better surprise her every day with how stunning it looks - for 5 years! She didn’t even get 5 months! The wig creator needs to take full accountability here - if you’re going to charge $10k+, you better be willing to work with your clients if they have concerns. Instead, she’s disappearing & trying to use T&C’s as a shield. Like, babe, just do the right thing? For $10k, the client isn’t just gonna “meh, oh well” - they’re going to demand better.
Guide 1: Most human hair wigs that are mass produced cost less then 100usd to produce. Mass production means they are made using cheaper lace, sewing machine with weft methods. The hairs are usually processed and sometimes over-processed(which kills the hairs). These mass produced wigs cost between 100-500 usd.
Guide 2: hand tied/hand threaded hair wigs typically take longer to produce and usually cost 1000-3000 bucks. These wigs are usually aimed towards cancer patients and alopecia customers. These wigs require several consultation sessions before purchase.
Guide 3: wedged wigs and hand tied wigs do thin out overtime but, you would have to be very veryyyy rough with them for them to thin out as much as hers did in 3 months.
Also for her wig to be 10K, it should be all lace and hand tied. You can have a full lace-hand tied wig for around $500.
Wigs last as long as you take care of them. If they are 100% human hair then you should be able to use any product with it.
I feel so bad that she got scammed. 😢 unfortunately there are a lot of companies out there that are predatory and target people struggling with alopecia and cancer. Hope that company goes out of business. It’s very predatory.
So I make wigs, I made the one I'm wearing in my profile picture. And I'd say that you could only really expect the highest quality hair and wig to stand up for 5 years. I'm talking raw, top quality hair. However the frontal will need to be replaced after about two years. If you get "virgin" remy wigs like the ones you get on aliexpress and amazon then they can last a year or two depending on the quality. Cheap beauty store wigs last less.
To me, though, the wig lace shown here doesn't scream high quality. You'd expect some Hollywood HD lace or even a full lace wig for that cost. The frontal looked like the standard boxy swiss lace
