Welcome back to Ghost Train Comics! In today's video dropping September 24th, 2026, Colin reviews one of the most anticipated collected editions of the year: Absolute Batman Vol. 3: Devil's Workshop by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, and a powerhouse roster of guest creators.
In this video, we cover:
The Daniel Warren Johnson 2025 Annual: Breakdown of the viral, kinetically charged issue where Bruce Wayne’s brutal force collides with Thomas Wayne’s moral legacy—featuring DWJ’s now-iconic panel work and wrestling moves.
James Harren’s "Sanctuary": How this backup story uses stripped-down, suspenseful storytelling and Todd McFarlane-level capework to showcase Batman through the eyes of terrified Gotham criminals.
The Origin of Jack Grim / Absolute Joker (Issue #15): Alfred’s intel breakdown on Mr. Jack Grim V, tracing the twisted family history back to gas-wielding carnival performers.
DC Crossover Connections & Legacy (Issues #16–18): Batman’s ongoing dynamic with Absolute Wonder Woman, the lingering physical and psychological trauma inflicted on Bruce's inner circle after Bane, Martha Wayne's secret ties to the Court of Owls, and the tragic reimagining of Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy) in The Seventh Kingdom.
