Y1RS is a stroke of genius from Colnago.  It's literally an instantly recognisable, unique rolling advert for the brand before a single penny has been spent.  The point isn't to sell them - it's to be a halo product that gets people into the brand.

I was riding around Regent’s Park, and a young guy passed me on a Y1RS wearing jeans, trainers, a Louis Vuitton man bag and no helmet. He was basically commuting.

Is it even possible to "feel" whether one bike is faster than another in this category? I always assumed it wouldn't be easy because the gains between them are so minimal.

The main thing you feel between riding a cheap vs expensive bike is you feel superior when you pull up at the bike cafe for a coffee and cake after a brutal 12mph 10 miles on the flat

It’s looks fast af… even standing still… and you look bad ass on it… that’s a win-win… 😂😂😂🍻

I bought the Dark Edition and transferred all my SRAM RED 13x1 bits and Enve 4.5 SES wheels over to it from my TIME Fluidity.  Life is too short to ride boring bikes... LOL!

This proves to me just how subjective and difficult it is to review bikes. Everyone’s experience is so different even on the exact same bike. I felt the total opposite to the first 3 questions you asked yourself, but of course it doesn’t make either side right or wrong. I just find it very interesting. Definitely adds complexity and pressure when giving thoughts and opinions that people value and use to make purchases. Nice video David 🤘🏼I’m sure you’ll get the big for this bike soon! I also need to ride many more ‘fast’ bikes by the looks of it 😂

Since you just got the new Cube Litening, it would be awsome to see a head to head comparison

Looks so much better in black and the blue one

Always loved the look and heritage of Colnago bikes and this bike may be fast but let’s be honest its looks are very polarizing.

Props to you for keeping your integrity in this review! Keeps me coming back. Will probably be 4 years before they send the next one LOL

I have this bike, and every time i ride it it blows my mind. It's so quick, response and just goes and goes. But my main surprise is that it is super comfy

Really interested by these first impressions. I think like many of us discovering what a bike is like is literally a case of riding it in a regular weekly bunch ride and a ride which puts both rider and bike to the “test”.  It would seem the “jury is out” on your impressions given this ride of the bike  and rather it felt heavy. It doesn’t seem it would be a bike you’d go for without hesitation when doing this ride again. I love Colnagos, but they certainly come with their own characteristics. It’ll be good to know what will come.

You need to ride this bike with campy and bora wheels.. 🤣

its absolutely gopping.  but function over form and all that

Its never the bike ,its always the rider

just a bike bro, not the Mars rover 😂

Love the honest review. It does look amazing but maybe not worth the money 💰….. and you stopped at Broadway 🤩

The colorway is called “Poser” 😉

The seat tube junction is way cooler than the Madone, which however you slice it just looks brittle.
