Be honest: how many floppy disks did you ruin or swap back in the day just to finish these games? 😂 Drop your absolute favorite Amiga exclusive in the comments below - if it didn't make this video, I might just have to make a Part 2!

Also, if this brought back some great childhood memories, smash that Like button so the YouTube algorithm spreads the Amiga love to more retro gamers! 🕹❤

I’ve owned every Sony console, every Nintendo console, every Sega console, and every Microsoft console, but the gaming system I loved the most was the Amiga. Switching from the 64 to the Amiga 500 way back in 1987 was pure science fiction: those colors, that sound, those incredible games—it really felt like taking a leap light-years ahead of the past. I think only the transition from 16-bit to 32-bit was more significant. I’m happy to see that the Amiga is still popular today (it turns 40 next January!), and I’d love to see a compilation of its best games available for current consoles. Of course, the original is unbeatable. Great video and fond memories.

Some amazing Amiga moments here.

i love your videos! thanks!

thank you for hard work!

Love the retro coverage on this channel, mate!

Seeing classic games like this inspired me so much that over the last few months I ended up coding my own 3D retro space sim (heavily inspired by 90s Wing Commander & Privateer with procedural Sound Blaster audio and CRT filters).

The crazy part: I don't currently own a computer, so I engineered the entire 3D engine line-by-line directly on an Android smartphone using a text editor app (QuickEdit)!

Got a couple of 10-second gameplay clips right here on my channel if you ever want to check out what someone can build on a phone screen. Keep up the awesome retro content! 🚀🇦🇺

Another brilliant dish from the menu..🍳

I was amazed when i saw Hero Quest 2 on Amiga500...by that time i had a Master System...

WILD CUP SOCCER and SIERRA SOCCER have been featured twice.

I didn't have AMIGA, and was surprised that there were 3D games, althought very simple.

Deluxe Galaga was soooo good

Add me to the list! When I found out all this ridiculously cool stuff was coming out for the Amiga years after it was, I felt cheated.

I had an amiga and never wanted a nintendo or other system 😁

I love the Amiga but if I was forced to keep only one of my 16 bit systems I'd keep my Mega Drive or PC Engine, SNES would be third choice and Amiga last. And it's not the hardware, it's the software. Shmups were inferior, platformers were inferior, beat them ups were inferior, fighting games were inferior... In the 80s and early 90s Western devs had no notion of game design. The majority of the Amiga's library is populated with objective jank and your video is filled with them, beautiful looking games with boderline inept game design and gameplay. Sure there are a few gems here and there, stuff that I'd miss, but for each you find on the Amiga you get loads of the same caliber on the 16 bit consoles of that era.

To me the only reason to favor the Amiga is if you don't really care about arcade, action/platform games and JRPGs and prefer mouse based types of games. In that case if we reduce the scope to computers, from mid 80s to early 90s, yeah Amiga all the way. To me it's not even open for debate. PC was the worst gaming platform at that time and the Atari ST was cleary a good step behind the Amiga. Past 92 the PC really started to take off and replace the Amiga as the best computer for gaming, at a hefty price tag though. And by the mid/late 90s the PC also replaced consoles for me because it simply did it all: from great fast paced action games to typical computer games (crpgs, simulations, point'n click/adventure etc.) with the added bonus to play arcade and 8/16 bit console games via emulation, and even Playstation at the very end of the 90s.

NO, not every gamer wished we had an Amiga. A 486 with VGA (256 colors with 18-bit palette) with Sound Blaster 16 and Roland MT-32 set the gold standard for games for a decade.

For video VGA 320x200 or ModeX 320x240 only had 256 colors but had a superior 18-bit palette while the Amiga has only 32 colors out of 4096 (12-bit palette.) Once VESA took off we also had 640x400 and 640x480 8-bit graphics.

While the Amiga popularized MOD music other formats with 8, 12, 16, and 32 channel formats such as ScreamTracker and FastTracker were available on PC as well.

The PC Game Star Control 2 has a 4-channel MOD tracker built-in! If one ripped the music you could play them in a MOD player on the PC or Amiga.

The GUS had superior hardware mixing as well.

The Amiga may have been first but PC made the technology cheap and popular.

No most 90s gamers clearly didn't wish they had an Amiga as evidenced by the success of the PC, SNES and Mega drive games market while the Amiga market imploded....it's 2d wallpaper trickery focussed hardware outdated and it's crippled processor and memory constraints hobbling it's ability to deliver 3d or other processor intensive games.

Had an Atari ST 520 STFM that was about a year before AMIGA 500 was going to be released and at that point every game did kick Amiga's huge power bricks behind. But sure the time did go on and i did later change to ATARI 1040 STE because the floppy disk did break on the old one and at that point not that much games was produced for ATARI and then i did look at all of the AMIGA's games. Some where really good looking. But then FALCON 030 was released and that was the real thing i did really wanted. But the cost was about 1600 dollars so that was dropped almost instant. But then i did find something called PC....soooo....
