Today I got a very sweet email from Denise’s mother, Judy❤️🥹 she said “Thank you so much for doing the research and telling Denise's story. David and I are in our 80s now but still clinging to the hope that we will find her and lay her to rest”

My heart breaks for them. I cannot imagine the pain that they have felt over all these years without answers or justice. Thank you everyone who took time to listen to her story.

Saying the blood was from a girl loosing her virginity was really chilling to hear

This is my moms cousin. This was and is so devastating her family. They have wondered and worried for YEARS about Denise. 😞

@Whitneysink 3 years ago

Everything in me screams it's the cousins. Way too much detail in their story. Too many red flags the girlfriend picked up on. And now, why would they refuse to talk unless they had something to hide? It makes my blood boil that they are just out there living life when they probably took hers.
So sad for the parents who just want their daughter to finally rest in peace.❤

You DO NOT look embarassing! You are radiant with or without annoying loops 😅. Thanks for another new and interesting case...I've never heard of this one.

I went to school with Denise and she was such a sweet person! We all miss her and want to know where she is. This will always be with me, things like this just don’t happen in our town! I’ve always wanted to do a podcast and this is a story that I wanted to do. She has never got enough coverage from the media. I have my theories for sure. Her parents are such wonderful people and I want more than anything for them to have peace and to be able to lay her to rest.

It drives me nuts that past generations used the “it’s none of my business” or “stay out of it” mentality as a reason for not reporting crimes. Like I cannot even fathom that mindset.

As a person who grew up in Connersville, raised my kids there, and now lives on the outskirts of town; I believe wholeheartedly it was the cousins. As for the police work, it has been shoddy since Day 1! Sheriff Joey Laughlin (recently voted out as he chose not to run again) decided to pick back up Denise’s case, but even after they dredged the pond out at Mary Gray, little has been done in this case and it is so frustrating for our tiny community! I appreciate you shedding light on these small town cases. Denise and her family deserve justice. No one should have to go so many years without it! Please keep in contact with Judy & keep the Pflums lifted up in prayers, good vibes, and all the wonderful things! ❤

I literally gasped when I saw the title. My mom used to babysit Denise for a brief amount of time when she was little. This whole thing has been such a tragedy. It happened in my hometown and I think everyone is still struggling with what occurred. Thank you so much for covering this Kendall! Much love.

Those brothers are definitely involved. Too many clues point that way. The police work is so ridiculously disappointing,along with so many cases. RIP to Denise, and I hope they find her one day.💙

I think he really did feed her remains to the “hogs” that he and his cousin mentioned while intoxicated. It’s so sad 😢 may her soul rest in peace ❤️

Denise is my first cousin. Thank you for reporting on this.

I grew up in the 70’s and I can tell you that my Dad was incredibly abusive and an alcoholic. He would scream and yell and park on the grass and pass out on the lawn. He beat my Mom and us kids and our pets. We LIVED IN A TRAILER!! There was NO WAY our neighbors didn’t hear. Yet not one of them called the police. We would be in the yard after the fact or playing in the neighborhood and they would all act like we had cooties but never offered help.
Obviously as an adult I look back and I can’t believe no one tried to help. My Mom was almost strangled to death and ran out of the house barely escaping death.
It was a different time for sure. As an adult I try to help whenever and wherever I can. There is no lonelier feeling when you are being abused and no one reaches out. That goes for people and animals. Please HELP if you see or hear anything that resembles abuse ❤. It could mean life or death

having a family member and no justice is soooo frustrating....my brother was killed over 30 years ago and til this day we have no justice. I know what her family is going thru...it's heartbreaking.

@ashleywood3428 3 years ago

Shotty police work is already infuriating, but to think the police was your own family?? And that's the effort they put in to bringing justice for this poor girl and her family!? Absolutely horrible.

@janacobb9554 3 years ago

This sounds like another classic “perpetrator-comes-from-an-influential-family-so-police-does-shotty-work-on-purpose-to-cover-it-up” case. I’d put my money on Benny; there’s too many coincidences pointing to him. The ex-boyfriend is really weird too though.

@rose7104 3 years ago

The initial police work in this case is just soo infuriating. The poor family deserves closure. This is one of the saddest cases, I have ever heard.

@Munky_Lee 3 years ago

I really REALLY hope they look more into those drunken confessions.

@deisymontes 3 years ago

Kendall, PLEASE make a video about the case of the “SAID sisters” who were tragically murdered by their father. He recently was captured. It’s a case that I feel should be talked about. PLEASE! If anyone reading could please like this comment/ tag Kendall 😭

@zombiechicken7114 3 years ago (edited)

The officer saying he was pretty sure he interviewed the ex once. Its just devastating for her family to hear this as it's really him basically admitting his total incompetence in not keeping any notes. It's hard to believe he was allowed to work solo on this as no one was supervising him and insisting on reports. Total incompetence.
