I really find it cool that Valerian reformed the draconian Ghost Program and tried to turn them back to people. He looked at all the shit the Dominion did and realized (just like us the player) that treating them as livinig weapons is just asking for something to go wrong and now you have an assassin on your ass for what you did to them. He tries to promote true loyalty from them by treating them correctly.

But the problem, as explained in the video, is that the Ghosts themselves CANNOT leave. They have no idea how to live like a regular human being, so they stick what they know ... which is being a human weapon. But at least they know the "hand that pulls the trigger" so to speak sees them as more than just that.

I can see post End War Valerian building a Psi Academy where young and old people can learn to harness their power without becoming weapons in the process. Since they only ever explored the Weapon Path, the Academy may bring research in other branches like medicine.
Maybe even broker with Artanis a plan to place the Academy on a planet that is on the borders with Protoss Space and have Protoss settlers set up shop on that planet and work as teachers since they are THE guys when it comes to Psionics.

In regards to Zagara, while she is more peaceful, I do not think it will interest her that much (aside from keeping an eye on it purely due military reasons). On the other hand Stukov would show interest if they can help unlobotomize regular infested Terrans. We know cases like him or Kerrigan are more "hand crafted" and have quite the strong will too. Regular Infested have their mind pretty much broken so aside from cannon fodder they are worthless, but if you can return their minds they will be quite useful. If Stukov broached the idea to Zagara she WILL give her blessing, she knows how Kerrigan has bested her enemies and how Terran ingenuity has saved the day more times than she would have liked. Even if someone like Stukov or Kerrigan are most likely impossible to recreate, still having the Zerg equivalent of Ghosts as independent operatives for more sensitive missions (Zerg are built for being the Hammer, but sometimes the Dagger is more useful) will be definitely useful.

Honestly the mental image of a "retired" Ghost Operative and their Protoss Assistant going into class teaching Protoss children, human children and some Infested about their gift is HILARIOUS to me 😂😂😂 has some Aizawa Shota and class 1-A from My Hero Academia vibes 😊

Treatment of psi gifted individuals in Starcraft lore is very similar to that of human telepaths in Babylon 5.

Like with Starcraft, telepaths in Babylon 5 are practically outlaws, their rights having been sacrificed in name of protection of privacy, making them property of the state. They're strongly encouraged to join up with governmental organization called "Psi-corps" dedicated to train and control telepathy. Failure to comply means either life on the run, which either ends with forced re-education by the corps, life in prison or being permanently drugged to nullify telepathic talents, which can have severe adverse effects, depression and self-harm being most common. The fourth more informal option is to try to sign up with one of the alien governments, thus no longer being subject to human jurisdiction which in practice makes it a willing exile(there's one alien nation, Narns, who are particularly eager to get their hands telepaths). And living in alien culture is not always easy.

Even joining with Psi-corps comes with mandatory surveillance and compliance with whole slew of regulations what you can and cannot do....and possibility of being involuntarily test subject in experiments of trying to increase telepathic talents, which the majority of them do not survive. Mindwipes on their own members aren't out of the equation. Psi-corps also practices arranged pairings of it's members to breed better telepaths, with or without their members consent.

The biggest difference is that Starcraft ghost program is purely military oriented, where as the Psi corps have strict ban on armed service(they consider telepaths too valuable to be sacrificed in combat duty), aside from their own militarized law enforcement division to mainly catch telepaths but also solve crimes where telepaths have been either victims or perpetrators and a secret fighter squadron "Black Omega" meant to do wet-work for the goverment.

The way you narrate these videos is a good watch and listen.  Well done man!

As traumatic as Kerrigan's snafu was, Nova's was even worse. She was a late find and went longer without being found. She destroyed an entire office building. Her affluent family used their connections to keep her hidden up until then.

I am so glad i subbed to this channel. I didn't know you also did lore videos. This is the quality content i love to see on YT. I came to your channel for the funny SC2 mods videos but now we are getting so much more. TY for making this amazing content.
In 1999 someone gifted me the SC 1 manual (in french) and i still have it to this day in pristine condition. I was a massive SC BW fan back then and i read the thing many times (i had studied french in highschool). That was my introduction to SC lore. A few years later i also wrote a short story about a ghost program in which they trained ghosts to fight protoss and stay in deep cover in protoss territory. Sadly i lost the HDD a long time ago. I always liked the SC ghost lore and im sorry they never made the Ghost game. It would have been a great action game.
