Beautifully done...surprised there wasn't a crowd there to watch this...definitely a once in a lifetime event!

Born and raised in Avon. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this caboose sat behind the old #2 fire station (now Avon parks & recreation) on Swartz road during my childhood before being relocated to the center of town. Beautiful job preserving a piece of Avon history. I hope this video receives many views and likes. Looking forward to taking my grandchildren to see it and to learn about its history.

I was actually in the caboose about 20 years ago when it was a hobby shop.

We just moved a caboose last week from Sugar Creek, Ohio to Bellaire, Ohio. I’ve moved about 70-75 over my career. We got one more caboose, 2 passenger cars, and a locomotive to move this year. Good job guys! I do mine a little differently, but you got it moved. i have a video on my YouTube channel moving a sleeper car from the Barnum & Bailey circus train from Huntington,WV to Gallipolis,Ohio.

Yup been there done that except my father's was a bay window  cr24515 caboose on 1 double drop track panel and trucks on a flat, 1 crane pittsburgh pa to i believe the new owners were from around Cincinnati! But we built the track panel brought in the ballast,  placed the trucks then brought in the caboose,  connected all the brake beams and rigging back up ran a line from the air compressor,  charged it with air brakes applied!! What a memory!!

Our neighbors had a caboose, and the crew that came to move it had a special rig they'd invented to roll it away. The heavy wheels went on a flatbed, and as the caboose was lifted, they then lowered it into a "trailer" that had regular  wheels so the caboose  rolled away on it's own  set up behind a semi. Pretty  slick, and I think it didn't  take long either. This was NE ohio, and the crew was from NY

This is right at my corner and today I saw a guy paintig the outside. In this town they don't do anything halfway. My two grand kids couldn't beleive it. More than twenty years ago there was a hobby shop connected. This will become a local landmark. This is also the historic distrct and this adds alot. Thank you Avon, Ohio.

That 1 1918 caboose needed a great fix up and restored the caboose where it was used to be need new windows, new everything on it
