Carlito’s Way is a MUST for any new Al Pacino fan.

A hell of a picture and one of the best movies of the 90s hands down

23:05  this is the best movie shootout ever.  I love the sound design.  They placed microphones down the side streets to capture the echos

Pacino and deniro at a diner, like a couple of regular fellas. Classic.

Great Val Kilmer was in this film. RIP, Val  Kilmer. He deserves an Honorary Oscar for his career now he passed away. He and Michael Biehn of Terminator were great in Tombstone.

11:53 Mr. Wild thing himself...Tone Loc

Greetings from Scotland. The point of the diner scene is that it's Pacino and De Niro acting together. Two of the greatest actors opposite each other.

This is one of those movies that's a completely different experience in a theater versus on a screen.  If you don't have full 8.1 surround sound you lose most of the intensity of the bank robbery.  They mike'd everything, and used the audio from the blanks pumped up rather than fake gunshot sounds like most movies do.  It's just a completely visceral experience with the full audio.

In the bank scene, their tactics and magazine reloads are spot on and even used as an example of how to shoot and move under fire in training!

Saw this opening night at the theater and about 100 times since.......never gets old.

This is one of my absolute favorite crime dramas. Every character is drawn so rich, and all the dialogue is perfectly crafted. The coffee scene is pure classic cinema. I had a VHS movie I watched a lot as a kid, I can't remember which movie it was, but it had a trailer for HEAT that used to get me so hyped. It wasn't for another decade until I actually saw the movie.

Another one I really love is "A Simple Plan" from 1998. A very slept on Sam Raimi flick between his Evil Dead and Spider Man phases.

This movie is an absolute MASTER CLASS of cinema

22:41 They programmed the alarms and cameras to turn themselves off 20 minutes before they entered the bank. Tom Noonan's character, Kelso, told them how to do that earlier in the film.

My fave movie ever made.

'DON'T WASTE MY MOTHERF***IN' TIME!!'

They shut off  the cameras and alarms before they entered the bank

Even with a suppressor (silencer) guns still make an audible noise

Many women find themselves in situations like Edy. Speaking from personal experience my sister. He didn't present himself as a criminal. And once she found out she's emotionally connected. It can happen to anyone.

This movie, particularly that shootout scene in Downtown L.A. Inspired the bank robbers of the North Hollywood shootout in 1997. They got armed to the teeth with automatic weapons while the police just had shotguns and semi automatic handguns

One of the best modern cops vs robbers movies.  Actors all at their peak, saw this one in theaters when I was 15... a lot of dads took their sons to this one!
