The thing I like about the Bates family is how involved the parents are with their kids and how all of their kids are very kind, compassionate, and mature.
I have a large family with 11 brothers and sisters (4 being older and 7 being younger) and I can agree that having lots of siblings is always fun because you always have someone to do something with.
I’m just going to come and say that I thoroughly enjoyed being an only child. I wasn’t lonely. It was my normal just as having a huge family is their normal.
I come from a family of 9 kids and I thought we were a big family! It's all about making a game out of chores suchnas matching the socks. If you make it into a game, the kids rspond to the chores more of a fun game rather than a task. I think they're a lovely family with much love and respect!! God Bless them!!
As someone who is part of a big family, I have seven brothers and sisters, I can tell you that we older ones didn't mind helping with the younger ones most of the time. To people who only have 1 or 2 siblings they probably think its hell but its no big deal to fix your little siblings a bowl of cereal or to get them dressed. I know others in large families and they didn't see it as a big deal either. Really, I rather see a family of 18 well behaved kids than to see a family of 2 kids who run around drinking and getting knocked up.
I’m going to go on record as an only child and say that I was never bored or lonely growing up. I made friends, learned to entertain myself and grew up just as socially literate as people with multiple siblings.
they seem like really nice people. these parents are amazing to be able to raise so many children in this day and age without the influence of TV etc and home school them. good on them
