With the DLCs, it kinda just felt like they wanted to dump story-advancing stuff in it, instead of taking their time.

This video is very good, you didn't go there and say "has flaws it's rubbish" with an emotionless voice, like some other critics. This video has humor and criticism. Somethings like the design of the demons and how the story was told I don't agree, because we have new monsters like whiplash and carcass that are out of the norm, but Doom never had very different designed enemies other than baby in doom 3 they were all pretty basic and I don't think the developers wanted to go a VERY different path like doom 3 did, and the story I think is pretty good, it has what you need in a doom game, and the story being told by files is basically all the things the doom franchise has done with its story since the 93 game, the part of the story that was bad for me was the resolution in TAG 2, but that's just me. But even with that disagreement, I still like the video, again, it's a video made by a passionate fan of the game who just wants to emphasize this by criticizing it, just to improve it. But the best part of this video for me, is the comments section, because it's the doom community in its purest form, people talking about how they love the review and the game, not just a bunch of idiots talking shit about something that they do not agree.

I agree with the colorblind thing... just because my hud is visible doesnt mean that i can tell what the fuck im shooting at

customization and progression go hand in hand, and for me that's what increases the replay factor for me, picking up new clothes and trying them on

Well im a moron cuz at  16:17 i accidentally left a random poster of tag 2 on the screen for way too long... how did i miss that

just that brief clip of "Everywhere At The End Of The Time" A1 was enough to drop my heart into my stomach

One of the big things for me was how shit the boss fights were. I literally forgot that arena guy existed after playing through it twice

12:13 the reveal didn't exactly come out of nowhere since in the doom eternal lore community there was always a theory on who the seraphim might be. And then eversince doom eternal came out there was a new theory on whether the seraphim was sameul hayden, and as time went by that theory became more convincing until the ancient gods 1 came out. And then and there it felt more like a confirmation, but yes i definitely understand and agree with  where you're coming from, i do feel like the reveal could have been a lot more interesting, like for example: when in doom eternal, the part where vega says "Am i the father?" It comes out of nowhere but you immediately get that sense of shock when you've been keeping up with the lore, and realize what sameul hayden has done from your current perspective of the time.

i agree with most things in this video, except for the hud and demon designs. the hud could use a rework, but its workable in its current state, and the demon designs are a bit lack luster. sure they look cool, and their functions are unique to one another that throwing one of each in an arena can give you a rough time. but yeah they are all either bipedal or a floating meatball. as its stands, these 2 things are okay, but i agree 100% with everything else said in this video

I'm glad more people are starting to be more critical of Eternal. It's a damn good game, but it ain't perfect.  To be honest, the only massive improvement the game makes is in terms of gameplay, the story, atmosphere and nuance just got shoved to the side.

Great video Frenchie! 😄 I may not play DOOM but it was really neat to see your perspective on a game that you obviously have put a lot of time and interest in

At 1:32 you say it’s too cluttered but you can change the size of the hud size to make a quick check to see and putting the equipment on the top right could interfere the design was to not stop the gameplay in the middle of the battle thats why there put together

This video perfectly described my feelings on this game. Thank you for this super insightful video, man!

This video was fire like the takis I was eating while watching this. And I never really realized the points you made about the story until now, cus yea Vega literally being god and Hayden being an angel just didn’t really hit that hard and wasn’t jaw dropping like it should’ve been. Cause there was no build up to it cause it all happened in the DLC…

"oh look at him, oooo look at the cute little piece of shit". anyway, ye, good game, but not flawless

Lucifer (in the case of Doom, Davoth) doesn't lie; the Father is a the true "Prince of Lies" for usurping HIS creator's position in the universe and power.

DOOM Eternal's main problem is the lack of multiplayer options, even thought DOOM 2016 multiplayer isn't that great, it's far better than DOOM Eternal Battlemode, imagine how fucking awesome Deathmatch or other gamemodes would be in DOOM Eternal. Lack of modding/mapping is also big problem, (I know people can make mods but it isn't really accesible) with mapping and modding tools DOOM Eternal will truly become Eternal. Story needs improvement aswell, DOOM 2016 did it well, (not perfectly tho) they way Slayer and Samuel communicated to each other was fun to watch, Slayer's movements showed what he really wanted to say, same thing happens in Eternal but it's kinda left out and forgotten later in campaign, instead you hear Samuel Hayden, Khan Maykr, Intern and etc talk some stuff. Overall I really liked your "review", haven't heard anyone mention these problems in details.

(I fuck up while typing huge sentences, im sorry lol)

primal carnage gameplay please
