I Hunted Brooklyn’s Drug Dealers As An NYPD Narcotics Detective
Ian Bick
55,624 views
James Famiano grew up watching addiction destroy his family — and made a decision early that he was going to escape that world by becoming a cop. What followed was more than twenty years with the NYPD working across multiple boroughs from Brooklyn narcotics to the Special Victims Unit — chasing criminals while trying not to become one of the broken people he grew up around.
In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, James breaks down the complete truth about his NYPD career — from the academy to patrolling Midtown Manhattan to Chinatown to going plainclothes to Brooklyn narcotics to turning drug dealers into CIs to going undercover to major federal drug cases to corrupt cops to SVU cases that still haunt him to the toll the job took on his mental health his marriage and everything else. This is the most honest and most comprehensive NYPD insider story we have ever told on this show.
