Didn't Konami tried to delete this game a long time ago

Doing a “last time on game grumps” from an iconic one-off 10 years ago is CRAZY GOATED

I like how it took all of 6 minutes for Dan to go from "We've changed as people, horror's come a long way, we'll be fine!" to "I am no longer in control of my emotions."

“What if I threw up on your lap, would you be upset?” is Arin’s version of “Would you still love me if I was a worm?”

10 years ago when this playthrough came out I was homeless watching this on my laptop in a shed trying not to have a heatstroke.

Now im in my own apartment on a comfy couch watching them play this again...10 years is huge

The fact that they don't remember certain conversations, and repeat them almost word for word several years ago is so funny to me. Good to know that Dan still has the same 7 days tolerance to people puking on him, even after all this years.

I love how much Dan simultaneously hates this game so much he yells at it and is fascinated by it to notice all these little touches he doesn't remember or didn't notice from the first time. Meanwhile Arin sounds like he's trying to figure out how to get to the airport parking or something.

16:45 dan catching that second voice saying "umbilical cord" is so damn vindicating for me. i heard that the first time i watched someone play this, and i swear NO ONE else heard it at the time.

18:06 "God this is fucking scary. What a scary fucking game. Jesus Christ" - Dan Avidan. put it on the box

The PT house would be an interesting zillow listing. 0 bed 1 bath, infinite square feet. Bit of a fixer upper with real potential, mild roach problem

The theory that Arin alluded to is that you cross time and space during the events of P.T. So when you see the bathroom door rattling at one point, that's actually you in another point in time trying to open the door. And when you look through the peephole from the bathroom, the eye you see on the other side is your eye looking back from another point in time. Given the quote at the beginning of the game and that this is a phenomenon that happened in previous Silent Hill games, the theory is strongly believed to be true.

ill be forever pissed about this game. konami would have literally printed money with this thing, not to mention how amazing it was to have junji ito, guillermo del toro, and kojima on one project. the fact this is a DEMO and is as good and influential as it was...

love how they say they are not the same people as they were 10 years ago, yet they have extremely similar conversations in near the same way 10 years apart.

10 years later, P.T. is the 270th game the Grumps have beaten! Congrats, boys! 59:00

"Norman Reedus and the Funky Fetus" just made me realise that Hideo would have taken some of his silent hill plans into Death Stranding 😂

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rewatched the PT playthrough, I’m so happy right now

7:28 Fun Fact: That's because of the fact that Konami were earning way more money through Silent Hill Pachinko than actually making games (I know, it's stupid). But in the recent years, Japan changed their Pachinko laws to regulate them so the odds of winning were fairly decent and have to be inspected, thus GREATLY reducing companies' profits from unfair pachinko odds.
That's why Companies are starting to make games again with their IP's (SNK with Fatal Fury/KOF, Capcom with DMC, SEGA-Sammy with Sonic, and now Konami with Silent Hill and MGS)

It’s beautiful to see that Arin has all but completely forgotten everything about this, while Danny remembers the trauma with almost photogenic precision.

Edit: @askthepizzaguy caught me, I used photogenic instead of photographic. But I'm gonna chalk it up to a Freudian slip when writing about Dan.

Plot: A man called 'Dan' is trapped in a hell of his own creation.
His only escape? Another man named 'Arin' has to focus his attention on something for at least 10 seconds.
There is no hope for Dan..

It's kind of amazing how a game that never came out was so influential on horror games moving forward. The atmosphere, the sound design, the knowledge that something terrible happened but only a skewed version of events from someone we don't even know the identity of. It's influence and disappointment backstory all still infamous to this day.
