After building her career in New York and LA, a woman fulfills her dream of returning home to Iowa to renovate a beloved old house. She found the perfect one, an Englishman's manor on the National Registry known as Horn Hollow.

Designers, builders and old-home enthusiasts in small towns and big cities across America reimagine and transform abandoned structures by preserving their historical integrity while giving them new purpose.

Not sure why so many of these old houses end up looking so modern inside. Would loved to have seen some color. Everything is so white. Oh well at least she saved it.

I'm so disappointed in this renovation.
The house, itself, is stunning!
The decor, sadly, is not.
Like others in the comment section, all life and character was stripped from this home and replaced with modern, lifeless, black and white 😣
I'm still glad you were able to save and restore this old house...

I was excited in the beginning. Sadly it ended as another characterless white and black "restoration".

So sad. Watching this hurts my heart, and I can't torture myself by finishing this video. She has no idea what she's doing (or saying). I hope whoever purchases this home, gives it the love it deserves.

Every color was deleted from the inside of this house RIP

So many people miss the mark when it comes to lighting. This is no exception.

While I am glad she saved the bones of this house, it now looks like a sterile new build that's trying to look old. I hope someone comes along some day and gives this grand lady are real restoration instea of whatever this is.

Obviously the homeowner loves white and bright and has every right to make her home as she chooses, but if you're going to have a show called 'In With the Old' I really wish they would pick homes/homeowners that intended to keep as much of the old as possible, not just the exterior, the stair railing and the piano.

I loved it from the outside and was excited to see the results. Unfortunately the soul of the house was completely destroyed.

Glad she saved the old house, all the work is worth it, the kitchen turned out very nice, wonderful floor to ceiling cabinets, even the island was a practical solution. Not crazy about everything being hospital white, needs some pattern and colour and I prefer vintage fixtures but it is another old house saved from destruction.

BOO!!! If you want a modern house, buy a modern house. I am so tired of these lifeless black and white designs. Where is the personality, color, warmth, individuality, character, antique appreciation?!?!

Dad is smart, practical, and good natured. LOVE him. Wish he was in my family.

It looks like the rooms are beautifully renovated with Hollywood decor. Wish you had furnished it with period colors and furnishings. But that’s me. Well done.

I really wanted to love this episode, and so many others in this series for that matter. But if the focus is on doing things that connect with the way the home was originally, the choices made here just didn’t add up to me. I stopped when the white subway tile started going into the all white kitchen.

Hey ! You definitely saved it from decay.
Although, would be nice to use at least some antique light fixtures, some accent wallpaper in different places . Facebook marketplace is overflowing with good antique stuff for cheap prices ! and… the bay windows, baseboards and some other woodwork could have been sanded and stained nice darkish/reddish color ! Especially bay windows !
If you really wanted to paint them, the more period correct would be cream color. It definitely lost a lot of character, just being white.

P.S. i do historic renovation on houses in Pennsylvania

It’s an amazing remodel! I think some areas are too modern and not reflective of the style of the home. Still gorgeous!

So happy to see people restoring old homes ,There’s a beautiful historical home that could use a blessing of restoration,he owned the Waveland golf course ,it would be a blessing to the owner now because she has health issues….
