Celeste Cortesi is almost perfectly beautiful in every physical aspect, which is why many Filipinos were surprised when she did not advance to the semifinals of Miss Universe. I recently watched several episodes of her series, and from my personal observation, I began to understand why some viewers may have difficulty connecting with her. The episodes cannot even reach, more than 100, 000 viewers compared to the shows or videos of other Miss Phl Universe winners.

Celeste is undeniably beautiful and an excellent model, but at times she comes across as very “maarte” and somewhat disconnected from ordinary people, almost as though she is more comfortable in an ultra-luxurious environment. Her raw non-Miss Universe qualities being shown on these episodes might have been the actual reason for her exclusion in top 40 during the competition.  If I was the judge, I would simply opt her out in my list of finalists even if she is strikingly beautiful.

Perhaps one area she could continue developing is being more flexible, relatable, grounded, and comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life. Many of our previous successful Miss Universe representatives were remembered not only for their physical beauty, but also for their humility, warmth, adaptability, and ability to connect naturally with others.

For future representatives, there is an important lesson here: beauty is not only about physical appearance. Character, humility, authenticity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adjust gracefully to different situations can make someone even more  queenly beautiful.

Celeste certainly has strengths of her own. She is excellent as a model and, as the founder of Asul, she may also build a very successful career in business. Sometimes success simply means finding the environment where your strongest qualities can truly shine.

There is no love. Just a lot of showmanship.

Di sila bagay. Mayaman lang ang lalake at hindi gwapo. May pgka mayabang din. Walang sparks sa totoo lang. Hindi ko makita ang chemistry. Alam ko si Celeste genuine pero si Johnny mahangin talaga.
