I am in the process of replacing the cam because of a worn decompression lever. Luckily nothing broke apart, simply wore out. One thing I notice in this 25 year old engine is that the aluminum push rod shows wear in the region that it contacts the plastic guides. Any reason to replace the push rod as it simply shows slight wear. I am at the point of just reversing the rod so that fresh metal is in contact with the plastic guide.
