What's your favorite Golden Age superhero?

I read it at 31 years old. I go back to it periodically and find how it grows with me while the nostalgia theme becomes a reopened wound more and more each time. Here's to times past, friends.

Check out Doctor Star, an homage to Starman.

Pure comic book perfection.

Yes, James Robinson's Starman was a pretty darned good series.  I especially liked that he brought in EVERY version of Starman into the comic, even that weird blue guy!

All time classic series this run along with the golden age made me appreciate dc's golden age past. But also its a series about legacy family and can you forge your own legacy while staying true to who came before you

I really love the British invasion comic. Those are the peak in comic story

I hear a ton of good things about James Robinson's Starman run and I'm planning on reading the whole series with the two compendiums. Every time I look at the covers, it makes me want to read them.

A terrific comic and it remains a favorite of mine.

Thank you @ForEveryKindofGeek for covering my favorite dc comic run ever. It does get talked about enough so its great to hear it getting more love. Great work as always

What a coincidence; I just started reading it last week and I've fallen in love

Underrated comic channel found

Love the video, man

STARMAN, one of the few good things to come out of the Zero Hour morass, served as a brilliant, bright beacon during the Dark Times of the 90’s. It was appointment reading each and every month as I watched Jack, as well as those around him, grow and develop into the best aspects of themselves. I’ve always been grateful that Jack and his son got a happy ending, born out of the ashes of so much death and pain. Thanks for a look back at a series that still stands tall above anything that has followed in its huge footsteps!🖖♾️

Been waiting for this vid! Thanks for the time and effort, i think it rlly shows :)

Huge Starman fan here and I gotta say, you did this series justice and then some!

I was a Will Payton fan as a kid but when I was a teenager I discovered Starman thanks to my local library having the trade paperback of A Wicked Inclination, which had the "Sand and Stars" story. That ignited my love for this series and sent me on a hunt for the prior trades as well as the current issues. I fell in love with this series. It was a major inspiration for me wanting to become a writer. A few years later I was in college learning all I could about creative writing.

I've had the chance to meet James Robinson and Tony Harris at conventions and they were an absolute pleasure to talk to.

Excellent video! You did a great job!

Amazing Video and the few issues I read so far are really great. Also really like what Robinson did for the JSA in general

And the fact that DC chose Starman, of all characters, was co-headlining a crossover with Batman and Hellboy tells you what you need to know

I was happy to find the compendiums in LCSs. The art styles along with the characterizations really helped things. To the point where the Captain Marvel crossovers didn't feel as engaging. The annuals featuring different characters definitely gave things a few more layers. Makes me realize I don't think anything like it can be made ever again. I sure would like to do something with the Vigilante mantle in a similar vein.

One of the last truly great runs in comics. I love that is honors the Golden age of comics and the family. It has real heart to it. I love the art, it elevates it. And yes the hopeful sincere tone underneath the death and trauma in the story sets it apart.  am glad the character cant be messed with by hacks but I do miss Jack Knight Starman.

Also The Geoff Johns snipe wasnt very fair either lol. His GL is the defining run. Hes a competent writer. Robinson is definitely a more talented and nuanced writer but I do appreicate Johns. He is a journeyman and thats ok.

The interstellar arc features Soace Cabbie who by all accounts (well from me at least) is the best character
