I Almost Quit Halfway Through MagicCon

Lloyd Meng TCG

I flew over 7,000 miles, sold my Pokémon card collection, and hired a videographer on a whim just to attend MagicCon Las Vegas, and on Day 2, running on four hours of sleep, I was ready to pack my bags and go home. From almost missing out on applying for a creator badge to handing out Collector Boosters to incredible community members, this trip was an absolute emotional roller coaster. But an unexpected encounter with Ben Brode and an unforgettable night of LobbyCon reminded me why we truly play this game. It’s not just about the cards or the competition; it’s about the gathering.

Lloyd, I grew up playing standard with my childhood friends.i got back into commander about 2 years ago and couldn’t agree with you more. The laughs I get from sitting at a table with my friends of 30 years would not be possible without this game. The people element in an otherwise digital world is why I love this community. Thank you for the positive vibes! Plan to go to my first magic con in ATL this year. Hope to say hi!

You are a creator that is earning all the good things coming to you and your production quality & storytelling are on point. Keep being great to the community and it will return to you many times over in ways you might not expect

Found you randomly through the algorithm. As someone who has been playing Magic since '93, your graciousness and attitude are infectious and refreshing. I also love Phyrexians so you're right up my alley. Subbed and looking forward to more great content and continuing to follow YOUR Magic The Gathering journey!

Have never watched any of your content but this popped up on my feed and even though I haven’t played magic in 20+ years with my dad I still love to collect and enjoy the art and cards. This video was amazing. Lots of smiles and great people. Awesome video!

This entire video was incredible for so many reasons!
1. It gave me hope as a creator
2. I love your kind personality
3. I love that you decided to stay for the whole thing even though you were tired
4. The interactions you had with people were just so warm and genuine
Keep up the great work man, I love seeing you be successful and I really hope to be able to play a game with you at maggicon ATL!!!

Lol I thought you were talking about Kevin Kreider 01:09
Didn't even know this dude played magic too.

Also I just stumbled on your video, and I also just started playing again about a year ago.
I'm very intimidated going to MagicCon, but it's also been a bucket list for me.

I'm only looking into getting into MTG. I might not even start. Whatever happens though, I've subbed because I think you're awesome. The world needs more of you buddy. Keep doing your thing.

wow what a cool vid. I never seen this channel before and man takes me back to the enjoyable magic days. Though i've moved on, because I just couldn't keep up with sets, I still have very fond memories playing.
