If more folks would make a video just giving directions plainly like this young man, instead of playing some ignorant crap we don't listen to in the background drowning out the instructions or just random ignorant noise they like to hear over and over we'd all be getting smarter instead of leaving in search of a better video by a better creator. I brought a solar system just to charge a battery on electric fence and didn't know how to use the blue controller but now I have set it and works fine. Great video

1. Float Voltage (How full you want your battery to charge) 13.5 -13.7
2. Discharge reconnect (Voltage you set when you want the load to come back on after it has depleted the battery) 12.6
3. Discharge stop (What voltage tge controller stops producing power to the load) Default is 10.7 but for lead acid battery... Recommended is 12.3 volts... Contraint to 11.3
4. Load timer
5. Settings
6. Battery type (this controller works with lead acid, flooded B03, sealed B01, and gel batteries B02) to set go to battery discarge session, hold button for few seconds till it start flashing, then go up or down

I trialled the cheap blue solar controller. On my test I wanted to see if it could handle the 30 amp as described. So I over paneled with my 800 watts of solar on a very cloudy day. The little unit worked fine up to 10 amps. As the amperage climbed to 17 amps the back of the unit started to get VERY hot. When it got to 18 - 19 amps the unit completely shut down, like switched off completely then in a few seconds cooled down and switched on full power. Overheated again and switched off rinse and repeat. My opinion this little solar controller should only be connected to 150 watt maximum solar input. The next test was to see how it performed as the battery voltage reached 14.6 volts. The result was quite surprising. It cut immediately down to float voltage at 13.8 and then went straight back to 14.6 volts and then straight down to float again. It kept oscillating up and down. So the unit isn't even a PWM unit either. Hope that helps. I never tried to see if the low battery cut off to the load outputs worked or if the load outputs could handle the 5 amps as described. Basically, I felt that it was pretty much junk.

Thanks so much for posting this video, I have two of these, I bought the second because I thought the first was faulty and had no instructions. The instructions that came with the new one are in Chinglish and are difficult if not impossible to follow. Thanks to your video, I now have two working controllers. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Excellent video. I just set up a simple set up in my shed but connected the solar panel first The battery was set to B1 which is auto detect 12/24 and my USB would not work. I dissconnected it all and left it a couple of minutes. Connected the battery first and reconnected it all and now all is working very well. Many thanks for this excellent description

Hi scott, I know a little bit about everything and a master of only five things.... You might have saved the day !! I was using the solar panel to power it up... None of the controls would cooperate.. it's 101 ° out here in Arizona today, sooooo I'll give it another shot tomorrow... Connect the battery first... TYFYT
