The Kwon Ji Yong album as a whole is quite sad. GD said that the album was like a diary and he almost didn’t release it because it was so personal to him. When you look at the lyrics especially in the song Superstar you can get a sense of how he was feeling at the time. He was going through a difficult period and that’s also reflected in the MOTTE documentary.
I’m glad that he’s all silly and smiley these days, you can really see the difference and that he’s much happier now.

Can't wait for you to watch the MOTTE Documentary.

After that he was hiatus for 7 years. I was really worried and afraid he was really retired 😭. When I found out he would comeback, I could only cry. And when come to his concert, it's like a dream 😭😭

this song goes into the bucket of "super sad lyrics wrapped around in a beautiful melody"

Not only do you meticulously observe and react to the music, but also to the lyrics, expressions, and gestures, which always makes it feel so genuine. Thanks to that, I always look forward to OT Jayy's content.
As a VIP, there are still many more songs you absolutely need to listen to! Please definitely add Big Bang's 'Loser' and 'Monster' to your list!!
Get well soon!

I am always fascinated by the song, not just lyrics, also by the performance.
When he is singing this song on the stage, there are millions of people there with him but nobody can approach him and give him the love and company he needs. The irony and how he includ the audience to create the scene is just brilliant.

슈퍼스타로 반짝이던 시절이지만 그의 내면이 외로웠구나 싶어요. 그리고 그런걸 표현하기를 두려워하지 않는 지디를 사랑합니다...😊
항상 잘 보고 있어요~

Sometimes listening to this song makes me sad cause I remember him always saying how lonely he was. I wouldn't fault GD if he still felt that way today even though he blesses us with that beautiful smile mostly all the time now a days. I know a lot of people in the world are struggling emotionally. I am sadly one of those people I am struggling physically and emotionally. I already miss GD after attending his concert in Vegas his energy is a amazing feeling.

Easily in my top 5 GD's songs of all time. 💛 Can't wait for your Divina Commedia reaction. You are a real one, really looking through the details and all. Thank you for appreciating GD

I love this song. So beautiful, but you feel his emptiness but with bug contrast crowd going wild.

Divina comedia next. His Kwon Jiyong album hits your heart. Love him so much.

4:44 Fun Fact: 'Iye' (his first adopted cat) is also how 'kid' is pronounced in Korean (아이). So one set of explanation for that section of lyrics is that GD was asking his younger self too— Yk like his song 'Boy'. Because his younger self struggled a lot to get where he is at today but even tho now he's a so called 'Superstar', something vital is/was still missing from his life. I mean if it's GD, there most definitely will be multiple meanings & word play haha😂
(That whole Kwon Jiyong EP is depressed lol. When you listen to Divinia Commedia, you'll understand better. And ofc please please watch the MOTTE documentary 🥹🫶)

GD they can never make me hate you 🤍 thank you for your reaction video! Get well soon.

Thank you for your reaction, as usual! The "Kwon Ji-Yong" album is special to him. And in typical GD fashion, he released it on a USB drive format that had never been done before. GD fought hard to get that format accepted as an "album", so its charting would count towards awards. But not necessarily for awards..... just for acceptance of a new format being recognized as an "album". He's not only the "King of Kpop".... he's the "King of Innovation"!
Hoping that you feel better soon! Looking forward to your next reaction!

you should react on how he makes fun of some reporting while he was under scrutiny coz of some shitty drug issue that they wanna link to him..He was so savage.
