I have a gtx late march picked it up it is on a constant booking with the dealer I have done 14000 miles picked it up brand new passenger window not working rear electric side window would not shut by the time I got home same door rattling and squeaking it has been back now 7 times I still have the speaking side door rattling rear back row seats and my brakes are horrendous they grind and squeak first time it went in with the brakes no sir there's no issue so i rebooked with another engineer before I left the dealer it took a month to rebook then took nearly 2 weeks for the tools whilst it was in over Xmas now told all 4 tyres has rips in and will not test drive until I pay £1200 for new tyres My family love this car but the build quality and after sales is shocking I was also told they had not had any issues with brakes before now all I am finding online is people going on about the brakes
So, our 75’ plate GTX has come back from VW after out of the blue, it decided to lock up the brakes when turning right out of junction and then light up the dash like a Christmas tree. Scared the life out of us. Took 2-hours to get vehicle to side of road by a recovery operator and a further hour to have recovered. On top of other ‘glitches’ addressed the rear brakes were rebuilt and had a full software remap. Hoping that’s the last of it…..
Ive got a a swb 72 plate ID Buzz in the starlight blue, mines been in twice for warranty issues first issues were both side reflectors need replacing as they were cracking due to plastic fatigue, part of the inner door trim of the passenger side sliding door needed re attaching due to clip issues and the front bonnet handle came off. Second time it went in was for the child lock issue you have also experienced. With that being said i absolutely love this vehicle and the fam love it too its great family mover.
Assuming the dealership can cover all issues under warranty can the Buzz not be returned for loaner vehicle (a nice Q4?) until fully sorted? Sorry to say but thats just poor quality VW!
I really wanted a Buzz, was going to convert to a part-time camper, as a company vehicle would be a real cost effective option for lifestyle. However, my and my friends experience with VW customer service has put me off... Customer service is very poor, trying to get them to admit or fix an issue (even under warranty) is like pulling teeth. When you are paying top dollar for a vehicle then you expect stellar service with it (plus reliability, and let's face it, VW reliability seems to have dropped since the diesel scandal). Probably Chinese for me!
Isn't this just every new car today? Build quality and reliability seem to be the price paid for new bells snd whistle "tech" and cost saving - not that £70k is cheap! I had a 2022 Mercedes CLA that returned to the dealer 13 times in my first 12 months of ownership, only once for a scheduled service! Best described as a bag of bolts, worst built and most unreliable car i have ever owned and that from the manufacturer whose whole reputation is built on "quality". Thanks to my work lifting the age limit their car allowance scheme i have now reverted to running 10 year + cars which pre date all the unreliable and unnecessary tech and, if i can be a little contraversial, are also greener as manufacturing any new car represents the largest part of the carbon lifecycle and is environmentally damaging compared to squeezing the life out of already invested carbon and keeping existing cars on the road.
HNY y'all............not that it makes your situation any better or worse but VW just announced they will not be selling the Buzz in Canada this year 2026. Not sure about the USA but sales are very low, high price with poor range and marginal quality. The ID4 remains for sale as the only EV from VW although Porsche and Audi sell a number of EV models. With the Ford announcement of the EV truck demise theres major changes with the auto industry.
My family love this car but the build quality and after sales is shocking I was also told they had not had any issues with brakes before now all I am finding online is people going on about the brakes
