It's pretty easy to tell the difference between work by someone trained with the fundamentals and someone who isn't.

Who made this video should export it in stereo. One channel for academic drawing lovers and the other for pop music lovers.

Wow! This is impressive, I wish I went to art college,  and the nearest I'll get to it..

You are invited to realize European ARTist HERITAGE: an Art Appreciation Study-Program focusing on the genuine working Mindset of the Renaissance painting Masters ~

The background music gives me a impression that I am attending  a lecture on classical painting methodology in a night lounge.....

Never should your lightest darks be as light as your darkest lights.
Remember in Romeo and Juliet, the Capulets and the Montegues; when the two families mixed: chaos.

^^ Excellent advice and comparison!

NO video...I repeat, NO VIDEO needs background music!
We watch to hear what you have to say, not to be entertained !
DAMN !

Do it over!

Great master of art from you keep it up

The best education I´ve had came from the Angel Academy of Art 2004-2005. No grading, no deadline. Your work needs to be perfect or you won´t go further. As simple as that. I agree with whom is saying that Michael is kind of egocentric, but still he´s a great guy. All the best to Angel Academy of Art. I wish I can go back soon and finish my painting program.

Darn, was the distracting tune really necessary?

Thanks you

One of the greatest young contemporary figurative artists in the world, Cuong Nguyen, makes a living at Yahoo designing mobile apps buttons. Unless you build video games or software, there is no way to make a living doing figurative work. There are just too many good artists out there already (just like guitarists!)

Very interesting and clear exposition. It's a pity the music is so intrusive.

How about if you set Chemical Brothers as background music instead of the one you used here?

Please, get rid of the music, please. An Early Renaissance master is asking you.

I totally agree, guitar is a good comparison(as keyboard would be as well... digital synths and sequencers are perfect players for a one time fee...) too. With the advent of digital image editors like Photoshop and SAI figurative work is of little value to most people... With Photoshop n the like one can easily trace as well or better than with a nice light box, use actual photos without editing(simply editing out the BG) or just apply effects to photos. :\

we need "fine" video editing do.

Anyone here practice the academic method/sight-size? I've been trying to learn, I have the 'Bargue book' and had large copies made but failed pretty miserably on the first plate twice and put it aside for a while. I just got up the confidence to try again but am using an illustration of a cartoon character blown up to 17x11. It's going well but still have some questions, would feel a lot better if someone with some experience could help me out :(
