"Why must you record my phone calls. Are you planning a bootleg LP" - fantastic lyrics.

Yep KB, definite reference to Bridge on the River Kwai, also, have a look at the pilot sketch they did for the Comic Relief charity with David Mitchell & Robert Webb.

You should watch a whole episode all their sketches are good. They do a sketch with children's TV presenters apologising it's based on an actual incident when a Blue Peter presenter was caught taking drugs and fired and the makers of show apologised to the audience.

You'll have to watch Harry Enfield doing Mr Cholmondley Warner... especially the football one... it's hilarious 🤣🤣

3:02, indeed my friend Boomer, the literally awesome price these incredibly brave men payed needs to be bound to our memories so that they are still doing these things, as we wish them all the best. nothing at all wrong with talking of them as though presently, they are certainly present in my mind, as they clearly are yours.

The the sand up to the necks bit is a combination of The Bridge on the River Kwai and Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence

There was a comic relief special with Mitchell & Webb guesting if you can find it . These are always funny , and cleverly shot to match the war films of the 40's and 50's , you have to wonder what today's youngsters really would be like in that situation .

Bridge Over River Kwai and Merry Xmas Mr Lawrence. Both cracking fillums.

these two had several series of comedy, that was really unique, with regular charactors, the two WW2 RAF. officer charactor's, were send-up's, with their typical posh -boy accents, were set in modern day situations. They think they are in peace-time, crossing the channel on holiday, instead of D'-Day.

This series had such an impact that I've never been able to take Alexander Armstrong in an RAF uniform seriously and he has plenty of great serious appearances in that uniform.

they also used to do a great divorced dad bit .

its also the guy from tim keys poetry show, which is a fantastic bit of radio. Tim Key has a great short film called Wonderdate on youtube as well, gets me right in the feels and its funny asf.

The dad sketches (they come under a lot of different titles all in all on yt) and the billionaire football owner are both good

So many Armstrong and Miller sketches. There are more of the pilots. They do a sketch of teachers moderating exams and becoming bored. Old time pianist who sing inappropriate songs, pride and prejudice type sketch where they talk inappropriately for that time. Love them. Oh and the caveman sketches. So funny.
